NDHS Homecoming Gumbo Cookoff set for Thursday, Oct. 5, after parade

Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish is asking the public’s help with locating a missing person.
The Duson Police Department is seeking information in the disappearance of Randy Joseph Bourque.
Bourque was last seen on Aug. 1 near Loves Travel Stop in Duson.
Bourque is described as a white male, 61 years of age, 5 feet, 6 inches in height and weighing 130 pounds. He has gray hair and blue eyes.
He was last seen wearing red shorts, red shirt with graphics and a black head covering.
Bourque has a speech impediment and may be difficult to understand.
If you have information regarding his disappearance or his whereabouts, you’re urged to call the tips line at 337-789-TIPS or download the P3 app on your mobile device to report tips anonymously.
All callers will remain anonymous and can receive up to a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to Bourque’s whereabouts.

The Crowley Art Association recently celebrated the art of Nicole Dahlquist with an opening gala at The Crowley Art Gallery. Guests spent time enjoying refreshments, visiting with the artist and viewing the alcohol ink pieces done by Dahlquist. Of those in attendance were the artist and some of her family. City, law enforcement and school personnel gathered earlier this week at City Hall to witness the signing of a proclamation designating September as “Attendance Awareness Month” in Crowley. Through the proclamation, the mayor and council “commit to focusing on reducing chronic absenteeism to give all children an equitable opportunity to learn, grow and thrive academically, emotionally and socially.
CROWLEY - Recognizing that good school attendance is essential to student achievement and graduation, September has been designated as “Attendance Awareness Month” in the City of Crowley.

Christie Dunn, CPA with the Lafayette firm of Wright, Moore, Dehart, Dupuis and Hutchinson, told members of the city council’s Revenue and Finance Committee Wednesday night that the audit of fiscal year 2021 - 2022 has been complete and that she is now working on the 2022 - 2023 year, which ended Aug. 31.
CROWLEY – Council members and the public have been hearing it since January, “We’re waiting for the good audit numbers.”
