Retired Iota Utility Clerk Sandra Ritter, center, was honored at a surprise retirement party on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at the home of Mike and Dolores Pousson. Ritter served as Iota’s utility clerk for 28 years. On hand for the celebration, were, from left, Aldermen Warren Pousson, Brandon Hebert, and Quillan Bertrand, Ritter, Iota Mayor Cody Leckelt, former Iota Mayor Cindy McDaniel and Iota City Clerk Delores Pousson.

Crews from Nation Services Company, Inc., of Alexandria, were in Crowley bright and early Sunday morning to stripe the parking spaces along North Parkerson Avenue. Here, in the 300 block of North Parkerson, the individual “stalls” are marked off. The crews started the project between 9 and 10 a.m. Sunday were finished by mid-afternoon. The striping was one of the final steps in the citywide street improvement program.
