Chance Henry, who served as a member of the Acadia Parish Police Jury for four years — all of those years as jury president — was sworn in as State Representative, District 42, during ceremonies Monday at the State Capitol. Henry was elected in October to fill the seat vacated when seven-year office holder, John Stefanski, left to run for attorney general.
Henry, a Republican, is the owner and operator of Keith Henry Insurance Agency headquartered in Crowley, is a lifelong resident of Acadia Parish and the rural, unincorporated community of Mermentau Cove. Henry, with daughter Edith Kate at his side, takes the oath of office.

EGAN — A suspect shot himself while authorities were serving a narcotics search warrant, according to the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
