C.A. Thomas
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley, for C.A. Thomas, 90, who passed away on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at 3:45 p.m. at Camelot Place in Rayne.
Rev. Bruce Runner, former pastor of Forest Park Church of Christ, will be officiating for the services.
Burial will be held in Ky Hebert Cemetery in Roberts Cove.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. Visitation will resume on Friday at 8 a.m. until time of services.
Survivors include two sons, J.L. and wife Carol Thomas of Pearl, Mississippi, and Roger Thomas of Texarkana, Texas; one granddaughter, Shanna Pyle of Midway, Arkansas; one grandson, Shane Thomas of Maud, Texas; three great-granddaughters, Peyton and Kenzie Pyle, and Chloe Elizabeth Thomas; and one great-grandson, Justin Kelly Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Thomas; two daughters, Nellda Laxson and Nancy Ocanas; and his parents.

Church burglar sought by Crime Stoppers
Detectives with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating the burglary of a church in the Richard Community.
St. Edward Catholic Church, located in the 1400 block of Charlene Highway, west of Church Point, was burglarized the night of Nov. 24, at 10:25 p.m.
An unknown suspect was captured on video surveillance breaking into secured boxes and stealing an undetermined amount of cash.
The suspect was wearing a light-colored, hooded sweatshirt, mask, gloves and American flag printed work boots.
This individual exited the church and got into the passenger side a light colored 2011-2014 Ford F150 Crew Cab.
The vehicle was last seen heading north on Charlene Hwy.
