Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Lucy Broussard Leleux, 84, who died Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at Maison duMonde Living Center.
She will be laid to rest at Abshire Cemetery with Reverend Gary Mitchel officiating the services.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Simon, Larry Adams, Dale Dupuis, Chuck Broussard, Tony Freedman and Kevin Marceaux.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Simon and husband Steve of Kaplan; son-in-law, Larry Adams of Kaplan; daughter, Brenda Lafosse of Lowell, Arkansas; her adopted son, Tony Freedman and wife Wendy of New Iberia; her sister-in-law, Pearl Broussard of Abbeville; her brother-in-law, Lionel Uze of Baldwin; her six grandchildren, Deidre Adams of Kaplan, Skye Hair of Kaplan, Valerie Marceaux and husband Kevin of Abbeville, Joelle Adams of Kaplan, Chad Lafosse Sr. of Lowell, Arkansas, and Krystal Frederickson of Lowell, Arkansas; and her six great-grandchildren, Jessica and Destiny Hair of Kaplan, Brenden, Taylor, MaKenzie and Rylee Marceaux of Abbeville; and her companion, Melvin Arceneaux of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Leleux; her son, Joel Leleux; her daughter, Patricia Adams; her sister, Willie Uze; her brother, Ray Dupuis; her granddaughter, Amanda Lege; great niece, Genevieve Uze; and her parents, Valery Broussard and the former, Helen Trahan.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the special care given by Maison duMonde, especially the memory care staff.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m.; and Thursday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m..

Bishop Louis Dugar

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Northside Assembly of God, 809 E. Northern Ave., Crowley, for Bishop Louis Dugar, 63, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
Bishop Alton Gatlin, pastor of Gethsemane Church of God in Christ and First Church of God in Christ, will be officiating the funeral service.
Bishop Louis Dugar was the Pastor of Greater Love Family Worship Center.
A musical will be held in his honor at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1,, at First Church of God in Christ, 328 N. Avenue B, Crowley.
Bishop Dugar leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Suella Dugar; four sons, Marcus Dugar, Joshua Dugar (Victoria) and Daniel Dugar, all of Lafayette, and Cory Dugar of Lake Charles; one daughter, Lakrecia Bernard of Crowley; four brothers, Alphonse Houston (Leecy), Jerry Dugar and Horace Dugas (Rudell), all of Crowley, and Norbert Reed Jr. (Debra) of Alexandria; two sisters, Mary Alexander (Carlton) and Doris Dugas, both of Crowley; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Lizzie Reed Sr.; one son, Andraé Dugar; one brother, Lucius Dugar; one sister, Ella Marie Anderson; and his mother and father-in-law, Mary and Freddie Melancon.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Greater Love Family Worship Center, 1001 N. Avenue E, Crowley. Visitation will resume at Northside Assembly of God until 11:15 a.m.

Diana Miller Gotte

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Oct. 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Diana Miller Gotte, 67, who died Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. surrounded by her loving family.
Fr. Jason Vidrine, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, will be the celebrant and Fr. Jude Thierry will concelebrate for the services.
The family requests visiting hours Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Diana is survived by her husband of 48 years, Kevin Gotte of Iota; two daughters, Jillane G. Bischoff and husband Clint of Mowata, and Rhiannon G. Gil and husband Grant of Broussard; two sisters, Kathryn M. Simar of Evangeline and Arlene M. Schneider of Bellaire, Texas; one brother, Daryl Miller of Lawtell; 10 grandchildren, Clare B. Bertrand and husband Steven, Marianne Bischoff and fiance’ Paul Lombas, Meredith Bischoff , Luke Bischoff, Margaret Mary Bischoff, John Paul Bischoff and Clint David Bischoff II, Alana Gil, Gavin Gil and Ciara Gil; and one great-granddaughter, Emma Rose Bertrand.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Harold and Mary Curtis Miller.
The family requests no flowers and that all donations be made for Masses in memory of Diana.

Halloween observances announced

The day for ghosts and goblins is upon us and each municipality in Acadia Parish is planning its own Halloween observance.
Those include:
• Church Point: Wednesday - Trick or Treat 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
• Crowley: Thursday - Witchy Way, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.; Trick or Treat, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
• Iota: Thursday - Trick or Treat, 5 to 7 p.m.
• Egan: Thursday - Trick or Treat, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
• Mermentau: Thursday - Trick or Treat 5:30 to 7 p.m.
• Rayne: Thursday - Fright Fest (Civic Center), 6 to 8 p.m.; Trick or Treat, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
• Estherwood: Thursday - Trick or Treat 6 to 7:30 p.m.
• Morse: Thursday - Trick or Treat, 6 to 8 p.m.

Stella “BeDoo” Louise Richard

It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Stella “BeDoo” Louise Richard announces her passing from this life on Oct. 24, 2019, at the age of 69.
Stella was born in Midland on April 10, 1950, to Ozar Richard and Cecile Kibodeaux Richard.
She enjoyed coloring, in her free time, but mostly she loved being around people. Stella loved greeting people with a huge warm hug. She also enjoyed going to church to worship the Lord.
The loss of Stella’s warmth will be tremendously felt and missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Stella is survived by brothers, Johnny Lee (Joan) Richard of Rayne and Jimmy (Lisa) Comeaux of Parks; and sisters, Michelle Comeaux (Jeff) Bolenbaucher of Beaumont, Texas, and Christine (Arthur) Comeaux of Midland.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents, Ozar and Cecile K. Richard; and sisters, Sylvia Sonnier and Lucille Duhon.
Funeral services for Stella “BeDoo” Louise Richard of Midland were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Monday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. with Brother Mike Trahan officiating.
A gathering of family and friends was held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings beginning on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 2:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. Visitation resumed on Monday, Oct. 28, at 8 a.m. until the time of her service.
Stella was laid to rest, following her services, in Quebodeaux Cemetery in Midland.
Carrying their beloved “BeDoo” to her final resting place were Jimmy Comeaux, Brian Comeaux, Joshua Bullitt, Brandon Thibodeaux, Ben Penton and Caleb Bolenbaucher.
Honorary pallbearers were Brett LeJeune and Leo Touchet.

Jimmie John Miller Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Jimmie John Miller Sr., 83, who passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, at The Carpenter House in Lafayette.
Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will be officiating for the services.
The family requestedvisiting hours to be held Monday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Iota. A rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Monday.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Iota.
He survived by six children, Jimmie Miller Jr. and wife Jolain of Iota, Billy Miller of Hemphill, Texas, Danny Miller and wife Kristi of Rayne, Doug Miller of Lafayette, Joey Miller and wife Samantha of Lafayette, and Jennifer Benoit and husband Fred of Egan; two brothers, Alfred and Tommy Miller of Lake Charles; 17 grandchildren, Aimee Cunningham and husband Trey of Iota, Megan Gatte of Egan, Remi Miller of Mermentau, Matthew Miller of Iota, Alex Wayne Miller of Alaska, Logan Miller of Crowley, Ross Miller of Rayne, Hunter Miller and wife Emily of Lafayette, Claire Miller of Lafayette, Keisha Miller of Duson, Ian Mitchell and wife Morgan of Germany, Ethan Mitchell of Egan, Chandler Montgomery and husband Conner of Montgomery, Alabama, Reese Miller of Lafayette, Carson Miller of Birmingham, Alabama, Brandon Benoit and wife Leslie of Lyons Point, and Dustin Benoit and wife Devin of Youngsville; and 11 great-grandchildren, Madeline, Brennon, and William Gatte, Adell, John Burley, and Laurel Cunningham, Liam and Ruby Leonards, Milyn and Elinna Miller and Jenson Benoit.
Mr. Miller is preceded in death by his wife, Norma “Lou” Oliver Miller; his parents, Dupre and Zora Johnson Miller; one brother, Dwight Miller; and two grandsons, Daniel and Zachary Miller.
Pallbearers will be Jimmie Miller Jr., Billy Miller, Danny Miller, Doug Miller, Joey Miller, Fred Benoit and Alex Miller
