Georgette Elizabeth Stine Lejeune

On Wednesday, September 18, 2019, Georgette Elizabeth Stine Lejeune, wife, mother, daughter and sister passed away suddenly at the age of 60. Georgette was born March 7, 1959 in Lake Charles, LA. Daughter of Gayle Marie Lancaster Godeaux, Dalton Gene Godeaux and Merle H. Stine (deceased).
Georgette will be forever remembered by her husband, and best friend, Dennis W. “Frog” Lejeune, her children, Heather N. Benoit (Chan), Lori E. Dalton (Mike) and Dustin W. Fruge (Melissa), and her stepchildren, Alisha Miller Delhomme (Shad) and Garrett Lejeune (Kristen).
Georgette will also be lovingly remembered by her siblings, Angela M. Saucier, Lelia Denise Trahan (Jake), Shirley Rexroad, Charles E. Myers, Anthony Godeaux (Gayle), and Doug Godeaux (Shelly), as well as her fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren: Rebekah (Levin), Madison, Brandon, Adrian, Phillip, Jace, Aliana, Wade, William, Blaise, William, Louise, Phillip, Andrew, Elizabeth, Carson and Roman.
She was preceded in death by her birth father Merle H. Stine, stepfather Charles Early Myers, grandparents Dudley and Lelia Bourgeois, Charles Robert and Ruth Lancaster, and Mr. & Mrs. Merle Stine Sr. She will also be joining her beloved and best friend Donna Lejeune in Heaven.
Georgette graduated from Iota High School in 1977. After high school, she continued her education and became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1996. She worked for many years as an OB nurse at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley. Georgette spent her whole life caring for others, a devotion which was visible in everything she did and every life she touched. She will be truly missed by all. May Heaven be colored in shades of purple for her.
Visitation for the family was held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Geesey Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley, LA. A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at a later date with the inurnment of her ashes at Reed Cemetery, in Basile, LA.

Ricks “Peter” Comeaux

RAYNE - Funeral services will be held at a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, for Ricks “Peter” Comeaux, 85, who died Wednesday, Sept. 18, at his home.
Reverend Kevin Bordelon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will serve as celebrant for the Mass. Musical selections will be provided by Karen Broussard.
Entombment with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 2 Mausoleum, Rayne.
Born in Acadia Parish, Mr. Comeaux was a 1953 graduate of Rayne High School. He also graduated from Spencer Business College.
He worked as a bookkeeper for Lamb Rental Tools before enlisting in the U. S. Army. He served one year in the United States and two years in Okinawa. Following honorable completion of his military duties, he attended S.L.I. (now U.L. Lafayette) for three years.
Mr. Comeaux was a bookkeeper at Labbe’s Service Garage in Duson for a number of years, and he also worked at The Rayne Acadian-Tribune and Rayne Branch Hospital. He then went to work as a lease operator offshore for Tenneco Oil Company for 15 years. He attended Lafayette Regional Vo-Tech School where he graduated in computer programming, and was then employed by Shell Drilling Company until his retirement in 1998.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1987, American Legion Post 77, St. Vincent de Paul Society, The Good Samaritan Organization and The Elderberries.
Mr. Comeaux’s hobbies included reading and traveling, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with and caring for his family. He loved having his children and grandchildren over for Sunday dinner, and for whatever came in between.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, 10 months, Barbara Lantier Comeaux of Rayne; two sons, David Comeaux and wife Rhonda of Rayne and Jason Comeaux and wife Rebecca of Mire; two daughters, Andrea “Ann” Comeaux of Mire and Allison Comeaux of Mire; grandchildren, Zachary Comeaux and wife Kristi, Blade Leger, Jaelynn Comeaux, Ethan Paul Comeaux, Caleb Comeaux, Jason “Deuce” Comeaux II, Ani Comeaux and Andrew Comeaux; great-grandchildren, Peyton Marsh, Olivia Comeaux and Johnny Comeaux; godchildren, Janice Farris and Paula Doucet; sister-in-law, Anabel F. Comeaux; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Mr. Comeaux in death were his parents, Esta and Arsene Hebert Comeaux; brother, Roe Comeaux; sister, Rose Comeaux, LeBlanc; and brother-in-law, Fred LeBlanc.
Serving as pallbearers are his sons, David Comeaux and Jason Comeaux, and his grandsons, Zachary Comeaux, Blade Leger, Ethan Comeaux, Caleb Comeaux, Jason “Deuce” Comeaux II and Andrew Comeaux.
The family has requested visitation on Sunday, Sept. 22, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Rosary to be prayed at 6 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne. Visitation will continue on Monday, Sept. 23, from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of The Ellington of Rayne, Acadia General Hospital in Crowley, Jennings Rehab Hospital, and Bridgeway Hospice for the compassionate care given to Mr. Comeaux. The family has also asked that memorial donations be made in memory of Ricks “Peter” Comeaux to Bridgeway Hospice, 2014 West Pinhook Road, Lafayette, LA.
