Eula Vincent Touchet

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, April 10, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Eula Vincent Touchet, 92, who passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Maison De’Lafayette Nursing Home.
Deacon Tom Sommers will be officiating for the services.
The family is requesting visiting hours to be Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to the time of service.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
She is survived by her son, Marvin Touchet of Lafayette; one grandson, Mike Touchet and wife Teri of Lafayette; and two great-grandchildren, Devin Ray Touchet and Kathryn Marie Touchet, both of Lafayette.
Mrs. Touchet is preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Touchet; her parents, Cleomere and Margaret Menard Vincent; one sister; and one daughter-in-law, Lou Ella Touchet.

Leola Mary Guillory Jordan

Mary as she was affectionately known by, was born in Lawtell on July 11, 1930, to Theodile Guillory Sr. and Alzina Guillory. She was called to her Heavenly Father on April 5, 2019, while in the comforts of her home.
Mary was a homemaker and dedicated her life to caring for her family. She loved cooking, canning, baking, and sewing. She loved the time she was able to spend with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary was a kind and loving person and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ms. Jordan is survived by her two sons, George Guillory Sr. (Mary Mae) of Iota and Stanford Jordan (Mernia) of Jennings; her three daughters, Patricia January DeVille of Lake Charles, Juanita Jordan January of Lake Charles, Ella Higginbotham (Eddie III) of Thornwell; her 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Lester Joseph Jordan; her two sons, Dalton Donald Jordan, and George Hilton Jordan; her parents, Theodile Sr. and Alzina Guillory; three brothers and four sisters.
A Mass of Christian burial for Leola Mary Guillory Jordan, 88, will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 10, at 1 p.m. with Father Roland Vaughan officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Bubba and Lena Mae Oustalet Center in Lake Arthur, on Wednesday, April 10, from 9 a.m. until the time of her service, with a rosary recited at 11 a.m.
Ms. Jordan will be laid to rest in the Thornwell Cemetery.

Eleanor Cuccio Premeaux

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Eleanor Cuccio Premeaux, 87, who died Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 7:14 p.m. at Southwind Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Crowley.
Fr. Mikel Polson, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will officiate for the services.
The family requested visiting hours Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. A rosary was recited Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
Mrs. Premeaux is survived by one daughter, Mary P. Stromboe and husband Richard of Slidell; two sons, Steven C. Premeaux and wife Lisa of Crowley, and Barry Premeaux and wife Venus of Lafayette; one brother, Charlie Cuccio of Crowley; eight grandchildren, Dustin Stelly, Ellen S. White, Anthony Stromboe, Steven C. Premeaux Jr., William Lucien Premeaux, Angelica P. David, Braedon Premeaux and Kaden Premeaux; four great-grandchildren, Dax Stelly, Caroline Stelly, Aubrey David and Carter David.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucien J. Premeaux; her parents, Anthony and Sadie Molica Cuccio; four sisters, Catherine C. Taylor, Rose C. Bourgeois, Vivian C. Laborde and Lucille Cuccio; two brothers, Anthony Cuccio and Frank Cuccio.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Stelly, Anthony Stromboe, Steven C. Premeaux Jr., William L. Premeaux, Breadon Premeaux and Kaden Premeaux.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Paul Stringfellow, the staff of Southwind Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Lamm Hospice for their care, love and support of Mrs. Premeaux and her family these last few years.

Mire murder suspect apprehended

MIRE - Deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to to a call on the morning of Friday, April 5, at an address in the 200 block of Estella Lane north of Mire. The investigation has revealed the victim was staying at this residence with family members.
At approximately 7 a.m., the victim’s estranged husband came to the location and shot the victim. The victim died at the scene.
Deputies, with assistance from the Scott Police Department, were able to locate the suspect and make an arrest.
The suspect has been identified as Paul Dale Bourque Sr., 54, of Scott.
Bourque has been booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail and will be transported to the Acadia Parish Jail on the charges of aggravated burglary and first degree murder. Additional charges are pending.
The victim has been identified as Amy Bernard Bourque, 40.

Eric Alonzo Clement

Funeral services will be held Saturday April 6, at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church for Eric Alonzo Clement, 33, who died March 27, 2019.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Eric Alonzo Clement a.k.a “Thrus,” was born on Sunday, Aug. 18, 1985, to Annette Clement and Gilbert Caesar in Lafayette. Eric departed this life on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.
Eric was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, where he served as an altar boy when he was younger.
Eric started his lawn and landscaping business in 2017 where he enjoyed beautifying many homes around the community which led them to receive the “Yard of the Month” award from the West Crowley Beautification Board.
Eric was also employed by Evins, Larry and Perry Family Funeral Home out of Mamou, where he did their landscaping service for their Mamou and Jennings location and often drove for them when servicing funerals.
Eric enjoyed spending time with his family, helping others when needed, riding motorcycles and ATVs and just having fun living life.
Eric leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Annette Clement of Crowley; two sisters, Shonda R. Lorden (John) of Rayne, and Theresa Davis of Jennings; four brothers, Cody Clement (Sherron) of Crowley, Sydney “Homer” Simon of Dallas, Texas, Dwayne “BB” Simon of Dallas, Texas, and Deric Simmons (Kerrie) of Richmond, Texas; one son, Ra’shawn Harmon of Leesville; two daughters, Eri’yanna and Erin Clement and mother Quinetta Wheeler of Crowley; one unborn daughter and mother Brinessa Montgomery of Crowley; five aunts, Elrita Larry (Morris) of Oakland, California, Mary Soulaire (Clossay) of Crowley, Ella Caesar of Jennings, Agnes Allen (Robert) of Jennings, and Helen Neil of Houston, Texas; six uncles, Gregory Clement (Sandra) of Fairfield, California, Adam (Kathrine) Caesar of Baldwin, Uncle Sidney (Murtty) Caesar of Jennings, Uncle Simon Caesar of Jennings, Uncle Raymond Caesar of Jennings, Uncle Jimmy Caesar of Crowley; his best friend/brother, Jarvis Martin; his FAVORITE cousin, Ebonie Guidry of Crowley; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Caesar; his paternal grandparents, Sidney and Emily Caesar; his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Ella Mae Clement; one brother, Yuri T. Clement; one cousin, Lamar Larry; two aunts, Catherine Clement and Hazel Caesar Durgin; and three uncles, Robert Caesar, Ernest Caesar and Paul Frankie Caesar.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 6, at St. Theresa Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
