Deborah “Debbie” Sipes Gardiner
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Deborah “Debbie” Sipes Gardiner, 66, who died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at 1:37 a.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Mrs. Gardiner was a native of Texas and longtime resident of Crowley. She served as a bank vice-president at First National Bank in Paris, Texas, and was a teacher at Crowley Middle School and then became a secretary at the Acadia Parish School Central Office, which she retired from in 2014.
She loved the outdoors, traveling and her dogs, Taco and Tully.
Rev. Cullen Clark, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate for the services.
The family requests visiting hours Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to service time.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Gardiner is survived by one daughter, Sherry Wallace and husband Timothy of Bossier City; one granddaughter, Amy Boon of Bossier City; three sisters, Mary Willifaye of Macon, Missouri, Peggy Silvey of Henderson, Texas, and Joy Jackson of Palestine, Texas; and her companion, Michael Leonards of Roberts Cove.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. H.L. Gardiner Jr.; and her parents, Elbert E. and Lucille Craig Sipes.

Phoebe LeJeune Leger
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at First Baptist Church of Creowley for Phoebe LeJeune Leger, 93, who died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at Encore Nursing and Rehabilitation in Crowley.
Dr. Cullen Clark, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate for the memorial service.
At her request, Mrs. Leger’s body was donated to science.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church at 228 E. Fourth St.
Mrs. Leger was a graduate of Iota High School and was employed as a cafeteria worker with the Acadia Parish School Board until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Crowley.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald Leger and wife Kay of DeRidder, and Donald Leger of Egan; one sister, Loretta LeJeune; and three grandchildren, Scott Leger, Chad Leger and Crystal Leger; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Leger was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph LeJeune and Olize Simon LeJeune; brothers Sheldon LeJeune and Herschy LeJeune;Grandson Dean Leger; great-grandson Tyler Leger; and husband, Herschel Leger.
Sgt. Darrell James Ceasar Sr.
Sgt. Darrell J. Ceasar Sr. was born on Dec. 11, 1974, to the union of Alvin and Samella Ceasar. He was the ninth of 10 children.
On Dec. 4, 2018, Sgt. Ceasar answered his final reveille, when God called him home.
He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. He married Timica Cain on Dec. 31, 1994, and they had two children, Darrel J. Ceasar Jr. and Bryana Ceasar.
He attended Crowley High School and graduated from Church Point High School in 1992. After graduation, Sgt. Ceasar enrolled in the U.S. Army and served until his honorable retirement in 2013. He completed one tour in Korea and three tours in Iraq with 603rd Transportation Company (Road Warriors).
His most recent accomplishment was the completion of his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix of Houston, Texas.
His memories will be cherished by his wife, Timica Ceasar; his children, son Darrell Ceasar Jr. and daughter Bryana Ceasar; one sister, Catherine Ceasar; and four brothers, Alvin Ceasar Jr. (Yolanda), Kenneth Ceasar, Arron Ceasar and Jason Ceasar; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Linda Cain; one sister-in-law, Nicole Cain (Melvecchio); and a host of relatives and friends.
Sgt. Ceasar was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Ceasar Sr.; his mother, Samella Ceasar; four sisters, Jacqueline, Alvinetta, Zelda and Marilyn; and one brother, Michael; and one brother-in-law, Cornelius Cain Sr.
A memorial service for Sgt. Ceasar will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at First Church of God in Christ in Crowley.
Ford and Joseph Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Joycie Pete Green
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at 523 W. Third St., Crowley, for Joycie Pete Green, 75, who died on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at Ochsner Medical Center Hospital and Clinic of Baton Rouge.
Services will be conducted by Pastor Sherard Joseph.
Interment will be in South Crowley Cemetery Development in Crowley.
She is survived by her three daughters, Michele D. Green of Crowley, Nicole L. Green of Baton Rouge, and Renee’ A. Green-Henderson (Trevor) of Thibodaux; two sisters, Betty Jones-Harper of Vallejo, California, and LaVera Pete George of Crowley; three sisters-in-law, Laurita D. Pete of Crowley, Bessie Carter of Gonzales, and Alice Green of New Orlean; two brothers-in law, Gregory (Nancy) Green of Natchez, Mississippi, and Isaiah Green of Fayette, Mississippi; three foster brothers, Freddie Johnson of Lakewood, California, Eugene Harmon of Minnesota, and Darrell Harmon of Crowley; four foster sisters: Debra Owens, Peggy Andrews and Theresa White of Lake Charles, and Diane Harmon of Jennings; an adopted brother, Willie Earl Washington by way of Madison, Mississippi; and a very special, dear friend, James Johnson of Crowley; with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Green Jr.; her parents, Lloyd and Celina Pete Sr.; three brothers, Lloyd Pete Jr., Sidney Pete and Melvin (Butch) Pete; five sisters, Amelia Geraldine Pete-Dawson, Ella Louise Pete, Carolyn Pete, Lattie Ann Pete and Delores Pete-Pierce.
Visitation will be held at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Crowley on Friday, Dec. 14, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and it will also take place on Saturday, Dec.r 15, from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
