Angie Amy Guidry

Funeral Services were held Saturday, Oct. 6 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Angie Amy Guidry, 57, beloved daughter, wife, mother and sister who died Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 9:29 a.m. at the home of her parents. In her final moments, she was surrounded by the people she loved and was finally freed from her near decade long struggle with Cancer.
Angie was born Elia Andrea Amy. She was the eldest of three children born to Daniel and Virginia Amy. Angie was a strong, smart, happy child who enjoyed playing with her brother and sister and playing on the farm, where her father was employed. She loved spending time with her grandmother, the late Edith Sarver. Angie attended school in Crowley and graduated from Crowley High School. Instead of seeking a career, she chose to pursue life as a mother and wife. On December 31, 1977 she married, Dexter P. Guidry, of Crowley and later the next year, gave birth to her first child, Dexter P. Guidry, II. In 1980, tragedy visited her when she gave birth to twin girls, Dannielle Quin and Angelica Faith, who both died shortly after delivery. It took two years for her life to return to normal with the birth of her second son, Daniel “Danny” Guidry. By 1985, Angie was a mother to her third son, giving birth to David Guidry. Angie divorced in 1987 and worked as a medical assistant. Her three boys excelled in school and sports. She found great happiness in attending their many sporting events, often spending every night at the local area baseball parks. She became a mother again in 1995, giving birth to Andrea “Annie” Faith Guidry. Annie would grow up to be her mother’s closest friend and best friend. After a thirteen year separation, in 2000, Angie married her previous husband, Dexter Guidry again. She and her husband chose to live a satisfying life enjoying their children and grandchildren in the quiet rural community of Lyons Point.
