Steve Linscombe
Funeral services for Mr. Steve Linscombe, 66, of Welsh will follow an 11 a.m. rosary Thursday, November 16, 2017 in the Miguez Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.
Funeral home visitation will be from 9 a.m. until rosary time.
Mr. Linscombe passed away with his family by his side at 1:24 p.m., Sunday, November 12, 2017 in his residence in Welsh.
He was a lifelong resident of Welsh. He loved his job at Coushatta Casino Resort where he worked for over 20 years. He was well liked by his co-workers and customers. He was always a hard worker and a good provider for his family even after he became ill. When his boys were young he love coaching their baseball teams and he also played on a softball team where he enjoyed the comradery and made lifelong friends. He was always there for people in need. Even putting them before himself. His biggest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed loading them up in his truck and riding around the farm. He always told them he was an alligator fighter and some of them still believe it.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy Linscombe; daughter Kristi Linscombe and wife Jay of Friendswood, TX, Brad Linscombe and wife Lisa, Rachel Navarre and husband Clay, Dean Linscombe, and Jackie Linscombe and her Fiancé Justin Grimes, all of Welsh; his 13 grandchildren, Jarah, Ashley and Wyatt Linscombe, Hailey and Gavin Pousson, Karlie, Cole and Cale Navarre, Gabrielle and Kamiel Cassidy and Jadin, Jodi and Jasper Grimes; one sister Gayle Carrens of Lacassine, LA and two brothers, Danny Linscombe of Lake Jackson, TX and Wendell Lee Linscombe and wife Shirley of Universal City, TX, sister-in-law, Patty Linscombe of The Colony, TX.
He is also survived by his in-laws, Daniel and Sharon Durr, Glen and Debbie Benoit, David and Lori Benoit, Leonard and Tricia Manuel and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Jack and Leola Linscombe, two brothers, Dean and Johnny Linscombe and brother in-law Jody Benoit.

Rosa S. Richard
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morse for Rosa S. Richard, 75, who passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 11:19 P.M. at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home in Gueydan.
Fr. Clint Trahan, Pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morse will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in Abshire Cemetery in Rural Kaplan.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Tuesday, November 14 at 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, November 15 at 8 a.m. until time of services.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna and husband, McNeal Lantier of Morse, Roxane and husband, Eric Bergeron of Crowley; one brother, Ray and wife, Maryleen Schexnider of Morse; one sister, Ruby and husband, Lawrence Marceaux of Forked Island; five grandchildren, Christopher and wife, Tara Abshire of Crowley, Kevin and wife, Tara Abshire of Gueydan, Blaine and wife, Brittney Abshire of Lyons Point, Christian and husband, Tyler Carlson of Morse, Eric and wife, Leslie Bergeron of Carencro; nine great-grandchildren, Laila, Raimi, Liam, Eli, Margaret and Hayden Abshire, Hunter Trahan, Madison Vincent and Luke Carlson.
Ms. Richard was preceded in death by her husband, Clanes Richard; her parents, Henry and Amanda Suire Schexnider; one brother, Roy Schexnider.
