Anna “Margie” Trahan Henry

Anna “Margie”
Trahan Henry
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Anna “Margie” Trahan Henry, 97, who died Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Ochsner Acadia General Hospital.
Father Mark Miley, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will be officiating for the service.
The family is requesting visiting hours to be held on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A rosary will be led by Immaculate Heart of Mary Rosary Group on Thursday at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Margie was a native and resident of Crowley. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Group and sang in the church choir.
She was also a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 15.
She and her husband loved camping and owned A&M Campground. They were also lifetime members of the Good Sam Club.
Margie, affectionately known by her family as “Nanny,” enjoyed watching sports, especially the Saints, and the volume of the game was certain to be enough to drown out anything else going on at the house.
She was very active right up until her last days and could still be found tending her vegetable garden daily.
Margie is survived by six nieces, Roxie Viator and husband Jody of Morse, Gerrie Trahan Martin of Lafayette, Judi Trahan Louviere and husband Duke of Lafayette, Mary Louise Trahan Padget of Lake Charles, Suzette Prejean Brunson and husband Jeff of Crowley, and Wanda Prejean Naquin and husband Ronnie of Baton Rouge; two nephews, Michael Istre and wife Brenda of Prosper, Texas, and Doug Trahan and wife Kim of Lafayette; and numerous great nieces and nephews, friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Allison Joseph Henry; her parents, Lezime Trahan Sr. and the former Ophelia Ancelet; two sisters, Mary Jean Prejean Trahan and Helen Trahan Istre; five brothers, Albert Prejean, Gilbert Prejean, Hillary Prejean, Camille Prejean and L.J. Trahan Jr.; one niece, Peggy Prejean Roy; two nephews, Rickey Istre and Harry Lee Trahan; one great niece, Wanda Trahan Olivier; and three great nephews, Jason Trahan, Randall Trahan and David Trahan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.
