Scotty Adam Duhon

MOSS BLUFF - Scotty Adam Duhon was born Jan. 24, 1968, and passed away July 10, 2025, at the age of 57.
Scotty was a kind and caring man who loved his family and valued the simple things in life. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sons, Matthew Duhon and Kyle Duhon; his mother, Alice Meche; and his sisters, Susan Geautreaux, Kathy Christy, Jenny Chassion and Shirlene Richard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Duhon; his father, Lawrence Duhon; and his brother, Kelly Duhon.
The Family received friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, with the funeral service following at 10 a.m. at Moss Bluff Pentecostal Church, 999 Sam Houston Jones Pkwy, Lake Charles.
Rev. Jared Pugh officiated.
Arrangements were entrusted to Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home.

Search continues following bomb threat at The Ellington

RAYNE - On Wednesday, July 16, at approximately 7:53 p.m., the Rayne Police Department responded to a call-for-service regarding an anonymous bomb threat called into The Ellington of nursing facility of Rayne, located at 308 Amelia Street.
Officers immediately implemented established protocols, evacuating the building while bomb detection K9s conducted a thorough search.
No explosive devices were located and the residents returned inside the building.
In addition to the Rayne Police Department, assisting were the Rayne Volunteer Fire Department, Acadia Parish Sheriff, Rayne City Marshal and Acadian Ambulance.
An active investigation is underway to identify the individual responsible for the threat.
Anyone with information of this incident is asked to contact the Rayne Police at 337-334-4215.
Further information will be released as the investigation progresses.
