Ragin Cajuns hold first practice of 2019 fall camp
Louisiana Football opened its 2019 Training Camp on Friday at Cajun Field with its first full practice under second-year head coach Billy Napier.
With spring and summer workouts in the rear-view mirror, the team hit the field for the first time donning just their shells in preparation for the upcoming season.
Coming off a 7-7, 5-3 campaign that included a trip to the inaugural Sun Belt Conference Championship Game and an appearance in the 2018 AutoNation Cure Bowl, the squad returns 17 starters (8 offense, 6 defense, 3 special teams) as it looks to defend its West Division title.
The Ragin’ Cajuns reported to camp on Thursday, meeting with members of the media in the early afternoon before gathering in the Donald and Janice Mosing Student-Athlete Performance Center Auditorium for their first team meeting.
The day concluded with the “Welcome Back #cULture Cookout”.
Louisiana kicks off the 2019 season on Saturday, August 31, at 11 a.m. when it faces Southeastern Conference foe Mississippi State in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
