All six Acadia Parish volleyball teams earn playoff berths
Acadia Parish will once again be well represented in the LHSAA volleyball playoffs.
When the brackets were released Monday morning, all six area teams earned berths in postseason play.
Northside Christian (24-12) earned the highest seed of the contingent, coming in at No. 6 in the Division V bracket. The Lady Warriors will play host to No. 27 Slaughter Community Charter (10-13) today at 5:30 p.m.
The winner of that contest will likely get No. 11 Highland Baptist in the regional round.
Notre Dame (25-18) enters as the No. 7 seed in Division IV and will entertain district foe and No. 26 seed Delcambre in the first round today at 6 p.m.
A victory would likely have the Pios playing another district foe, Catholic of New Iberia, in the regional round.
The Lady Pios beat both Delcambre and Catholic High in straight sets during the regular season.
In Division III, No. 13 Iota (17-18) will play host to No. 20 Crowley High (12-16) today at 6 p.m.
Iota defeated Crowley twice during the regular season with the last one, two weeks ago, being closely contested in four sets.
The winner of that contest will likely draw No. 4 Ursuline in the next round.
Also in Division III, No. 16 Rayne (12-22) will host No. 17 Pearl River Wednesday at 5 p.m. with the winner getting No. 1 Cabrini in the next round.
Church Point (17-18) is the No. 26 seed and will travel to Covington to take on No. 7 Archbishop Hannan.
The time and date of that contest was not confirmed as of press time.
