Lady Rebels cruise to blowout victory
SINGER -Sage Wimberly and Gracie Miller combined for 51 points to help lead the Midland Lady Rebels to an impressive 88-28 victory over Singer Wednesday.
The victory sent the Lady Rebels to 2-1 overall heading into next Tuesday's road contest at Sam Houston.
Wimberly poured in a game-high 27 points and Miller added 24.
Miller got hot early and knocked down three shots from beyond the arc as the Lady Rebels torched the nets for 33 points in the first quarter.
The pace slowed some in the second quarter, but the Lady Rebels still outscored the hosts 15-3 to push their lead to 48-13 at the break.
Marlie Boudreaux scored seven of her 14 points in the third quarter and Wimberly added six as the lead ballooned to 65-22.
The Lady Rebels closed out the game on a 23-6 run over the final eight minutes.
Mackenzie Oliver added eight points and Myra Carlson had six. Caitlyn Boudreaux and Kaylee Habetz rounded out the scoring with five and four points, respectively.
In the nightcap, the Rebels fell to Singer, 86-61, in the boys contest.
