Notre Dame’s Joe Pommier recently signed a national letter of intent to continue his track and field career at UL-Lafayette beginning in the fall. Joining Pommier during the signing ceremony were his parents, Brad and Melina ans sisters Adler and Analei.

Notre Dame senior Joe Pommier recently signed a national letter of intent to continue his track and field career at UL-Lafayette.
Pommier, a three-year letterman in track, had his best season in 2019 when he won the district title in the javelin and then claimed the regional title with his best throw of the season, 181-0.
Pommier went on to post a mark of 170-9 at the state meet for a third-place finish.
During his time at Notre Dame, Pommier was a two-sport athlete, lettering in football three years as well.
The senior defensive tackle recorded 60 tackles, including 23 that resulted in losses of 89 yards. He logged seven sacks and 17 quarterback hurries in addition to two fumble recoveries and a safety.
Those numbers were more than enough to earn him a plethora of honors, including the Defensive Player of the Year award in District 6-2A as well as on the All-Acadia Parish team and the LSWA Class 2A All-State squad.
