Queb’s Picks: Big matchups on tap for regular season finales
Big matchups that could alter the final power ratings are on tap this week.
Crowley High needs a victory to secure a playoff spot while Iota and Church Point need wins to sustain where they are.
For Rayne, a district title is on the line as well as staying in the top 32 in Class 4A.
Needless to say, it’s a big week for most.
Unfortunately, due to limited space, there is little room to go into detail.
With that said, here is how I see this week’s games playing out.
NOTRE DAME @ PORT BARRE – No brainer here.
I’m taking the Pios by a bunch.
ST. MARTINVILLE @ CROWLEY – Both teams are in desperate need of a victory to secure a playoff spot. This one could be another shootout with the final possession of the game being the determining factor.
I’m going with Crowley to slip by with the win.
IOTA @ MAMOU – This one could be closer than most would think. Mamou is not that bad and Iota is a little banged up.
Regardless, I’m taking the Bulldogs.
CHURCH POINT @ PINE PRAIRIE – Another no brainer here. Pine Prairie is young and hands down the worst team in the district.
I’m taking the Bears in a blowout.
RAYNE @ WASHINGTON-MARION– Marion has struggled for most of the season and Rayne can grab a share of the district title with a win.
I’m going with the Wolves here.
In other prep football action I’m going with Westgate over Carencro, DeRidder over Cecilia, Zachary over Walker, Westlake over Jennings, Buckeye over Grant, Caldwell Parish over Marksville, Sterlington over Carroll, Opelousas over Beau Chene and Captain Shreve over Airline.
