A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Mary Marva Willis Landry, 82, who died Jan. 16, 2019, at Lafayette General Hospital.
Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be officiating for the services.
The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Iota. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Interment will be in the Iota Cemetery.
She is survived by four children, Ronald Lee Landry and wife Brigitte Lee of Louisville, Kentucky, James J. “Deke” Landry and wife Amy of Iota, Elizabeth “Sis” Landry of Baton Rouge, and Rosaline Landry of Iota; four siblings, Sylvia Cecile Willis-Bryant and husband Aaron “Sonny,” Katherine Lois Willis and significant other Nelson Juneau, Charles Paul Willis and wife Johnnie, and Lionel Daniel Willis and wife Linda; 10 grandchildren, Andre Dominique Landry, Lester James Landry, Paris D. Landry, Kiara MeChel Landry, Christopher Landry, Clayton Landry Jr., Travein Hardy, Steven Cooper, Jr., Whitney Landry, and Kennedy Lee Landry; three great-grandchildren, Amari Pena, Zaylen Jackson, Emerson Roy Landry; seven nieces that she helped raise as her own, Freda, Marietta, Jennifer, Delores “Maxine,” Allison, Lolita, and Drucilla; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Landry is preceded in death by her husband, Cloffe Lee Landry; one son, Clayton Roy Landry; four infant children; her parents, Lawrence and Lillian Guillory Willis; and six siblings, James Leroy Willis, John Lehman Willis, Lawerence Truman Willis Jr., Allen Jolson Willis, Jeanne Willis, and Francis Luther “Uncle Love” Thompson.
Her grandsons will have the honor of being her pallbearers.
