Frog Festival arts-craft show will offer shoppers 60 booths

A number of arts and crafts booths will tempt and tantalize shoppers at the 2018 Rayne Frog Festival Arts & Crafts Show to be held in the Civic Center during the annual Frog Festival.
The show will be held Friday, May 11 (5-9 p.m.), and Saturday, May 12 (8 a.m. - 9 p.m.) at the Rayne Civic Center adjoining the festival fairgrounds.
The annual show is sponsored by the Rayne Beautification Board.
Vendors are invited to take part in the show by renting a 10’ x 10’ booth space for only $60 for the two-day event.
Admission is only $1 per person for cutomers to shop. Each person admitted will also be eligible to win one of many door prizes to be given during the show.

Hazel Credeur

Scott - Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in for Hazel Credeur, 83, who died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at Pelican Point Nursing Home in Maurice.
Interment was in the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Scott.
Survivors include two grandsons, Jason Michael Credeur and Adam Paul Credeur, three great-grandchildren, Kaylyn Credeur, Cole Credeur and Blake Credeur; special friends, Norwood J. Menard, Ronnie and Jeri Landry, Percy “Butch” Jr. and Terri Bergeron; sister-in-law, Kathy Leocade; and great-niece, Jaime Roger.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Credeur; mother, Aline Lantier; son, Earl W. Credeur; maternal grandparents, Rosemond and Eve Domingue Lantier; and paternal grandparents, Edmond and Lus Bergeron Credeur.
Pallbearers were Jason Michael Credeur, Adam Paul Credeur, Norwood J. Menard, Percy “Butch” Bergeron, Jr., Mike Lantier and Ronnie Landry.
Mrs. Hazel retired from F.W. Woolworth Co. with 38 years of service.
A rosary was prayed Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne.
The family requested visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne on Tuesday, Feb. 27, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, Feb. 28, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

James Luckett Bordelon

Church Point - A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for James Luckett Bordelon, 90, who passed away at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, in Crowley.
Fr. Edward Duhon, associate pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley, was the celebrant of the Mass.
Burial was at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum, adjacent to the church.
Bordelon was the son of the late Webster Bordelon and the former Lucille Linzay.
James loved being outdoors and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid baseball fan who loved watching LSU and the Atlanta Braves.
A World War II Era veteran, Bordelon was honored with a flag presentation ceremony at the time of the services.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Martha Fontenot Bordelon of Crowley; three daughters, Phyllis Chancey and husband John of Katy, Texas, Denise Frederick and husband Keith of Crowley, and Elizabeth Hennig of Broussard; two sons, Clay Bordelon and wife Dionne of Basile, and Brian Bordelon and wife Rachel of Tomball, Texas; 16 grandchildren, Amanda Boyle, Nicholas Chancey, Shannon, Jevin and Seth Bordelon, Rebekah Miller, Allison Endres, Megan, Lindsay and Harry Bordelon, Brandon, Ashley and Logan Frederick, Andre and Sam, Miller and Carlissa Tujague; 19 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Barbara Stallings and Sylvia Bradford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, E.P. Bordelon; one brother, Harold Bordelon; and one sister, Dorothy Bordelon.
The family requested visiting hours at Guidry Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and continue on Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A rosary was recited at the funeral home Thursday evening at 7 p.m.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Louisiana Hospice, Southwind Assisted Living, Acadiana Home Care and A Care Partner.
