Tyson Foreman

RAYNE - A Mass of Christian Burial for Tyson Louis Foreman, age 78, of Rayne, will be celebrated on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 1:30 PM in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rayne. Father Christopher Cambre, Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will serve as celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 2 Mausoleum, Rayne.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM in Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 11:00 AM.

Mr. Foreman passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 in his Rayne residence.

A native of Morse, Mr. Foreman was a longtime resident of the Rayne area. He was a member of the Catholic faith.

Mr. Foreman served in the Army National Guard, and worked for many years in the oilfield. After retiring from the oilfield, Mr. Foreman worked part time as a custodian at Notre Dame Catholic School in Crowley. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening, but his greatest joy was caring for and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Fay Judice Foreman of Rayne; sons, Brent Foreman of Rayne, and Joey Foreman and wife, Toni of Rayne; daughter, Sharon Meche and husband, Kevin of Rayne; sister, Florence Broussard of Rayne; brother, Gerald Foreman and wife, Barbara of Rayne; grandchildren, Myrth Foreman, Colbie Meche, Shana Meche, Joshua Foreman, and Samantha Meche; great-grandchildren, Ava Foreman, Luke Foreman, Jet LeJeune, and Kayle Melancon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceding Mr. Foreman in death were his parents, Turney Foreman and Edith Richard Foreman; and brothers, Wilson Abshire, Mervin Foreman, Alex Foreman, Bervit Foreman, Saneral Foreman, and Floyd Foreman.

Serving as pallbearers are Joey Foreman, Kevin Meche, Colbie Meche, Joshua Foreman, Boyd Gray, and Todd Gray.

Eula Bodin Garber

Funeral services will be held at a 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mrs. Eula Bodin Garber, 96, who passed away on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at home.
Fr. Paul LaFleur, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evangeline, will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mrs. Eula, a resident of Iota, was the daughter of the late Willie Bodin and the former Leah Vincent. Mrs. Eula was a homemaker, and bookkeeper for her family’s farming operations. She was also active member and past president of the Lafayette Parish Chapter of the Cattlemen’s Cowbelle Association.
Mrs. Eula enjoyed sewing, preparing meals for her family and caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Eula was a devout Catholic and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Borel of Ragley; four sons, Wayne Garber and wife Glenda of Iota, Melvin Garber and wife Barbara Bankston of Watkinsville, Georgia, Earl Garber and wife Janis of Basile, and Dale Garber of Crowley; 12 grandchildren, Mark Garber, Matt Garber, Michael Garber, Raegan LeDouaron, Kirk Garber, Ashley LeBlanc, Brandon Garber, Constance Janik, Erin Freeman, Leah Beauchamp, Kylie Bezdek, and Brittany Williams; 19 great grandchildren; and one sister, Sister Muriel Bodin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Leah Bodin; siblings, Roy Bodin, Nelson Bodin, Eunice Scalfano, Issac Bodin, Theresa Bodin; and one grandson, Dustin Garber.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Friday, Feb. 23, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.
Visiting hours will continue on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Eula’s four sons, Raywood Bodin, and Van Bodin.
The family would like to thank her caregivers Dessie Prejean, Betty Bealer, Diane Moseley, Pam Steiner, and Patsy Simar for all of their care throughout the years. Special thanks also goes to Dr. Robert Aertker and the staff of Hospice Compassus for their care and compassion.

Kermit George Helo Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Kermit George Helo Sr., 89, who died Feb. 21, 2018, at Lafayette General Hospital.
Fr. Mikel Polson, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will be officiating for the services.
The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
He is survived by six children, Freida H. Alleman and husband Don, Kermit Helo Jr. and wife Donna, Robert Helo and wife Patty, Ronald Helo and wife Monica, Janet H. Stelly and husband Stephen, and Tom Helo and wife Connie all of Crowley; one sister, Dalel H. Ackal of New Iberia; 14 grandchildren, James Moody Jr. and wife Kathy, Kelli Richard and husband Ronnie, Donald Alleman II and wife Michelle, Shannon Alleman, Col. Kermit Helo III, M.D., and wife Kendra, Kyle Helo and wife Desi, Konstance Andrepont and husband Bryce, Karl Helo and wife Mandy, Lynn Abshire and husband Seth, Amy Helo, Stuart Helo and wife Katie, Sarah Dilmore and husband Josh, Jude Stelly and wife, April, and Erin Dailey; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Helo is preceded by his wife, Dorothy Hebert Helo; his parents, Kalil and Rosa John Helo; and three brothers, Sahid, Henry, and Clarence Helo.

James Luckett Bordelon

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Mr. James Luckett Bordelon, 90, who passed away at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, in Crowley.
Fr. Edward Duhon, associate pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley, will be the celebrant of the Mass.
Burial will take place in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum adjacent to the church.
Mr. Bordelon was the son of the late Webster Bordelon and the former Mrs. Lucille Linzay. James, loved being outdoors and enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid baseball fan who loved watching LSU and the Atlanta Braves.
A World War II Era veteran, Mr. Bordelon will be honored with a Flag Presentation Ceremony at the time of services.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Martha Fontenot Bordelon of Crowley; three daughters, Phyllis Chancey and husband John of Katy, Texas, Denise Frederick and husband Keith of Crowley and Elizabeth Hennig of Broussard; two sons, Clay Bordelon and wife Dionne of Basile, and Brian Bordelon and wife Rachel of Tomball, Texas; 16 grandchildren, Amanda Boyle, Nicholas Chancey, Shannon, Jevin and Seth Bordelon, Rebekah Miller, Allison Endres, Megan, Lindsay and Harry Bordelon, Brandon, Ashley and Logan Frederick, Andre and Sam, Miller and Carlissa Tujague; 19 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Barbara Stallings and Sylvia Bradford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step father, E.P. Bordelon; one brother, Harold Bordelon and one sister, Dorothy Bordelon.
Visiting hours were observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and continue on Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of services. A rosary was recited in the funeral home Thursday evening at 7 p.m.
