Floating shower honors bride-elect Katie Marie Istre

Couple to wed next weekend

Friends and family of Katie Marie Istre of Crowley recently gathered for a floating bridal shower in celebration of her engagement and upcoming marriage to Dylan Paul Broussard of Rayne.
The Jan. 7 shower was held at the Rayne home of the bride’s aunt, Tara Pellerin, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Approximately 35 guests attended the mid-day event and enjoyed a brunch menu of chicken salad sandwiches, boudin, chips and dip and bagels and cream cheese, along with coffee and punch.
For the occasion, the bride-elect wore an ivory knee length sweater dress featuring bell sleeves.
Honored as a special guest was the great-grandmother of the groom, Jackie Fogleman. Out-of-town guests registered from Crowley and Scott.
The shower was hosted by Kodi Credeur, Sophia Cramer, Ashley Borde, Magan Cramer, Tori Vidrine and Cameron Broussard.
The bride-elect is the daughter of E.P. and Heidi Istre of Crowley. She is the granddaughter of the late Clyde and Wanda Navarre Jr. and the late Carlton and Pat Istre.
Her prospective groom is the son of Jamie and Laigha Broussard of Rayne. His maternal grandparents are Mike and Cheryl Suiter of Rayne, and his paternal grandparents are Marianne Prejean of Rayne and the late Darryl Broussard.
The couple will be wed on Saturday, Feb. 24, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley. Fr. Matthew Higginbotham will officiate the noon nuptials.
Following their wedding, the couple will reside in Baton Rouge.

June wedding announced for Broussard, Jackson

A. Jimmy and Lynne Millet Broussard of Crowley and Ivy Lee and Roseanna Myers Jackson of Hathaway are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Megan Claire Broussard of Crowley and Adam Charles Jackson of Hathaway.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Rose L. Millet and the late Warren T. Millet of Crowley, and of the late Allen “Butch” and Gayle Trahan Broussard of Morse.
Megan graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in 2014 before attending Louisiana State University Eunice. She is presently employed as a substitute teacher at St. Michael Catholic School.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Cliff Myers and the late Adelle B. Myers of Lake Arthur, and of the late Louis and Lorena David Jackson of Scott.
Adam is a 2015 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and attended Louisiana State University Eunice before joining the United States Marine Corps. He is currently a private first class.
The couple will be wed on Saturday, June 2, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley. Fr. Mikel Polson will officiate the 1 p.m. nuptials.

Tyson Louis Foreman

A Mass of Christian Burial for Tyson Louis Foreman, 78, of Rayne, will be celebrated on Monday, Feb. 26, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne.
Father Christopher Cambre, Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will serve as celebrant.
Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 2 Mausoleum in Rayne.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 26, from 9 a.m. until 1 a.m. in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 11 a.m.
Mr. Foreman passed away on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, in his Rayne residence.
A native of Morse, Mr. Foreman was a longtime resident of the Rayne area. He was a member of the Catholic faith.
Mr. Foreman served in the Army National Guard, and worked for many years in the oilfield. After retiring from the oilfield, Mr. Foreman worked part time as a custodian at Notre Dame Catholic School in Crowley.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening, but his greatest joy was caring for and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Fay Judice Foreman of Rayne; sons, Brent Foreman of Rayne, and Joey Foreman and wife Toni of Rayne; daughter, Sharon Meche and husband Kevin of Rayne; sister, Florence Broussard of Rayne; brother, Gerald Foreman and wife Barbara of Rayne; grandchildren, Myrth Foreman, Colbie Meche, Shana Melancon and husband Robert, Joshua Foreman, and Samantha Meche; great-grandchildren, Ava Foreman, Luke Foreman, Jet LeJeune and Kayle Melancon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding Mr. Foreman in death were his parents, Turney Foreman and Edith Richard Foreman; and brothers, Wilson Abshire, Mervin Foreman, Alex Foreman, Bervit Foreman, Saneral Foreman and Floyd Foreman.
Serving as pallbearers are Joey Foreman, Kevin Meche, Colbie Meche, Joshua Foreman, Boyd Gray and Todd Gray.
