Janice Marie Love

Janice Marie Love, 69, of Pineville, went to meet our Lord, Friday, Jan. 31, 2020.
A Celebration of her life will begin at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 16, with a Memorial Service being held at the First Presbyterian Church in Crowley.
Following the service, there will be a gathering of family and friends, being hosted, by Helen Love, at her residence 316 E. Fourth St.
Janice was the first born to the proud parents, George and Margaret Love, on Friday, Aug. 11, 1950, in Texarkana, Arkansas.
In her childhood Janice loved drawing, playing and singing Johnny Mathis songs. People said she looked like the actress, Natalie Wood.
It was around 14 years of age that she was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Her parents sought help through leading psychiatrist and clinics across the country. At that time not even the specialist’ knew what to do. Nowadays, one can get information and help on treatment from organizations such as: The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), or the National Institute of Mental Illness (NIH).
Janice lived many years at the state hospital in Pineville, until that facility closed. She lived her remaining years at a nursing home, in Pineville where her nickname was: “J Lo”.
Janice died after a short illness.
Preceding Ms. Love in death were her parents: father, George Wayne Love; and mother, Margaret Jane Wright Love.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Helen Love and husband Rich Hughes, Patricia Love and husband Bengt Lindell, Jeanette Skrobarcek and husband Jerry Skrobarcek, Gorgette Love and husband John Richard; her brother, Charles Love; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank Dr. Barton and the nursing staff at Rapides Regional Medical Center for their kindness, compassion and care.
‘Windswept, Peaceful gentle spirit, Windswept soul,
Carry your love on wings of light.
Peaceful Gentle Spirit, Windswept soul,
You carry light on wings of love.
Peaceful Gentle Spirit, Windswept soul,
Be bold, endeavor.
Sway as you may,
only for today,
Love only transforms, never harms.
Peaceful Gentle Spirit,
Windswept soul.’
- Dedicated to
Janice Love
