Bea A. Montgomery
KAPLAN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Bea Ann Montgomery, 78, a native of Rayne and resident of Kaplan, who peacefully passed away at her residence on Saturday, Aug. 3, surrounded by her loving husband and family.
She will be laid to rest at St. Alphonsus Cemetery with Rev. Mark Miley officiating the services.
Pallbearers will be Gavin Montgomery, Reese Montgomery, Austin Montgomery, Ethan Montgomery, Brandon Montgomery, Thomas Montgomery, Jordan Percle and Judd Gautreaux.
Bea is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ronnie Howard Montgomery; four sons, Ronnie “Skeeter” Montgomery (Jennifer), Shannon Montgomery (Christie), Shad Montgomery (Andi) and Mitchell Montgomery (Sheila); nine grandchildren, Gavin Montgomery, Macey Percle, Austin Montgomery, Brandon Montgomery, Kaitlyn Montgomery, Thomas Montgomery, Reese Montgomery, Ethan Montgomery, Emma Montgomery and Lexia Lacour; four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Jeanette Beard (John) and Rosalie “Doo” Beatty (Jeff); and one brother, Harold Joseph “Bud” Gautreaux (Judy).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alcee and Leonia Gautreaux; her brother, James Patrick “Pat” Gautreaux; and granddaughter, Addison Clare Montgomery.
The family requested visiting hours at Vincent Funeral Home, Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Monday, Aug. 5, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m., and on Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 8 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession departs for the church service.

Jeffery Michael Vincent
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Jeffery Michael Vincent, 56, who died Friday, Aug. 2, 2019.
Deacon Daniel Besse will officiate for the services.
The family requests visiting hours from noon Wednesday to service time.
Burial will be in Johnson Hanks Cemetery in Morse.
“Jeff” is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kim D. Vincent of Marrero; one daughter, Courtney Vincent of Madisonville and her children, Ava, Ryan and Henley; his mother, Lucille Breaux Vincent of Avondale; and one brother, Raywood P. “Butch” Vincent Jr.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raywood Paul Vincent Sr.; one sister, Nancy Berjansky; and one brother, Sidney Vincent.

Laura Lee Myers
It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Laura Lee Myers announces her passing from this life on August 1, 2019 at the age of 71. Laura was born in Crowley, LA to Leric Viator and Anna Belle Viator on April 17, 1948. Laura was a homemaker, who dedicated her life to the care of her family. She loved watching movies, especially classic western, and everything about Cajun living. Laura greatly loved visiting with family and friends. Laura was a kind and loving person who will be significantly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Laura is survived by her son, Matthew P. (Debbie) Myers, Sr. of Pace, Florida; daughter, Angelique Myers (Harry) Langley of Jennings; grandchildren, Matthew Jr., Angelle, Britnay, and Doug, Jr.; great-grandchildren; Matthew III, Cecilia, and one precious one on the way; brothers, Jimmy Viator of Gueydan, Richard Viator of Estherwood, and Daniel Viator of Estherwood; and sisters, Gail LeJeune of Midland and Brenda Lege of Ville Platte.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Leric and Anna Belle Viator; beloved husband, Norris “Neg” Myers, and sisters, Marie LeJeune, Dorothy Lyons, and Diana Hebert.
Funeral Services for Laura Lee Myers, 71 of Estherwood, will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Thursday, August 8 at 11 a.m. with Father Charles McMillin officiating. Laura will be laid to rest in Mermentau Cemetery following her Services. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings beginning on Wednesday, August 7th from 2:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, August 8th at 8 a.m. and continue until the time of her service.
Carrying Laura to her final resting place in Mermentau Cemetery will be Matthew Sr., Daniel Viator, Jr., Devin Hoffpauir, Taylor Hoffpauir, Dylan Joe Istre, and Matthew Jr. Myers.

Rita Leonards
July 10, 1958 ~ August 3, 2019
God called our angel home. It is with great sadness that the family of Rita Leonards announces her passing on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, with her devoted family by her side at the age of 61.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Hampton Davis as celebrant.
Rita’s family was the center of her world, especially her grandchildren, She loved to cook and was a very good at it. Watching her family enjoy her labor of love gave her immense pleasure.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friends will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her, especially her loving husband, Daniel Leonards of Duralde; her two loving sons, Daniel Leonards and wife Rae-Ann of Rayne and Derek Leonards of Duralde; her two loving daughters, Tara DeVillier and husband Michael of Eunice and Kerrie Willis and husband Danny of Welsh; her greatest loves, her three grandchildren, Lane and Ava DeVillier and Jude Willis; her sister, Donna LeJeune of Lake Charles; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ivy and Laura Dietz LeJeune; her brother, Larry LeJeune; her sister, Edith Doucet; and her in-laws, Blaise and Bernardine Leonards.
Rita worked for the Acadia Parish Veteran Affairs Office and retired from the Evangeline Parish School Board after 25 years as a para-professional at W.W. Stewart Elementary in Basile. She was a past CCD teacher at Annunciation Catholic Church, past church board member, past member of the La. Swine Festival and worked with the queen’s pageant for many years.
Children brought her great joy and she loved and was loved by many. She shared her love of art with her grandchildren and students.
She loved the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming and the Appalachian Mountains in Tennessee as well as the country music group Alabama and the movie Lonesome Dove. The quote “By God, Woodrow, it’s been one hell of a party” sums up her life.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 7 a.m. until time of services. A Rosary will be prayed at 1 p.m. Tuesday, led by Deacon Jim Cormier.
