Fabacher asks re-election to Police Jury seat

Ronnie Fabacher is announcing his candidacy for re-election to the District 2 seat on the Acadia Parish Police Jury.
“It has been my most rewarding pleasure serving as Police Juror to the taxpayers of District 2,” Fabacher said in making his formal announcement.
He continued, “I have gained a great deal of knowledge and insight as to how government management works, I stand confident in my decision to continue to serve the people of District 2.
“Please allow me your continued support by once again honoring me with your loyal vote. I promise to continue to be the voice my people deserve. Together we can continue to make our parish a better place to call home.
“Thank you and God bless.”

Annie M. Cahanin

RAYNE - Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Annie M. Cahanin, 80, who passed away on Saturday, Aug. 10, at her home in Rayne.

Deacon Dennis LaCroix from St. Joseph Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Church New Cemetery in Rayne.

The family has requested the visitation to be held on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. A Rosary will be recited on Monday at 6:30 in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.

Survivors include one son, Malcolm and wife Kathy Cahanin of Duson; three daughters, Debra and husband Bobby Thompson of Rayne, Jo Ann Cahanin of Crowley and Nelda and husband Steve Guidry of Rayne; one sister, Dora Doucet of Opelousas; ten grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Ms. Cahanin was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Cahanin; two grandchildren, Jeremy Hebert and Casey Cahanin; her parents, Adruse and Josephine M. Hebert; two sisters, Merida Richard and Eurella LeJeune; and four brothers, Adam, Elie, Eddie, and Edward Hebert.
