Miss Rayne Pageant Saturday, contestants introduced

RAYNE - Four young ladies will take the stage this weekend on Saturday, Aug. 10, with one to be crowned Miss Rayne 2019 during the annual Miss Rayne Pageant to be held at the Civic Center.
The theme for this year’s pageant is “Rayne, Louisiana, the most magical place on earth.”
The outgoing Miss Rayne of 2018, Mary-Kate Simon, will crown her successor during the 6 p.m. contest presented by the City of Rayne.
The four contestants include:
• Payton Alexandra Broussard, 17-year-old daughter of Stuart and Angie Broussard, is an incoming senior at Ovey Comeaux High School in the Performing Arts Academy. Bayou Silkscreening will sponsor Payton for the pageant.
• Ali Leigh Delahoussaye, 16-year-old daughter of Patrick and Ashly Delahoussaye, is an incoming junior at Rayne High School. She will be sponsored by the Rayne Lions Club for the pageant.
• Kailey Blair Hollier, 16-year-old daughter of Sammy and Paula Hollier, is an incoming junior at University View Academy. Spray Tans by Allyson will be her sponsor for the pageant.
• Ambra Shaé Minix, 18-year-old daughter of Curtrese Minix and Neil Charles, is an incoming senior at Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish. She will be sponsored for the pageant by the Ebonites Civic and Social Club.
As she concludes a most successful reign, the outgoing Miss Rayne Mary-Kate Simon notes:
“Everyone told me this year would go by fast, but it is so hard to believe it is already coming to an end. This year has brought so many memories, new friends, travels, life lessons, and overall, so much joy.
Miss Rayne has been something that I have wanted since a young age, after my mother told me about her reign as Miss Rayne in 1993. After a lot of determination, I was able to capture my dream title 25 years after she was crowned.
Over this past year, I have traveled all over the state representing Rayne, made a crown box to be passed down to the future Miss Raynes, and was the very first Miss Rayne to debut in the new train and mantle. And although I am sad that this year is coming to an end, I am so excited to see who will be the next lucky girl to wear this crown.
On behalf of the hard-working directors of this pageant, all of the wonderful contestants this year, past Miss Raynes, and myself, we hope you can all come to the Civic Center this weekend to support an old tradition and to watch the crowning of the new 2019 Miss Rayne.
Proudly representing the “Frog Capital of the World” and “Louisiana’s City of Murals”, I am your 2018 Miss Rayne, Mary-Kate Simon.”
