Wilfred Constantine
RAYNE - A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, for Wilfred Constantine, 94, who passed away at his home on Thursday, July 25, at 12:59 a.m. in Rayne.
Fr. Kevin Bordelon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated the services. Burial was in the St. Joseph Catholic Church New Mausoleum in Rayne.
The family requested the visitation on Friday, July 26, at 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. A Rosary was recited on Friday, July 26, at 6 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation resumed on Saturday, July 27, at 8 a.m. until time of the services.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Eyola G. Constantine of Rayne; three sisters, Helen Saltzman of Carencro, Agnes Dupont of St. Martinville and Ida Hayes of Sulphur; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Constantine was preceded in death by one son, Jody Costantine; his parents, Theophile Jr. and Ella B. Constantine; two brothers, Dennis Broussard and Wilsie Constantine; and one sister Eula Ogle.
Mr. Wilfred proudly served his country for three years in the United States Navy as a decorated veteran during WWII. He served on USS Pine Island AV-12 and was present at the signing of the unconditional surrender of the Japanese Forces.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations made to any Parkinson’s charity and Bridgeway Hospice.

Brian Keith Hoffpauir
Memorial services will be held for Brian Keith Hoffpauir, 50, at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 29, in the Duhon Funeral Home - Crowley Chapel with Brother Gerard Morgan officiating.
Visitation with family and friends will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday from 8 a.m. until just prior to the time of the memorial service.
Interment will be at a later date.
Mr. Hoffpauir passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Lady of the Oaks Nursing Facility as a result of lung and brain cancer. He had been under the care of Community Hospice of Lafayette and Lady of the Oaks Nursing Facility for a total of one day.
Willie Pousson has shared his home and his life for the past 30 years with Brian. Brian is the best thing that ever came into Willie’s life — thank you for a wonderful 30 years.
Brian loved to watch Bruce Lee movies and he also enjoyed putting model cars together. He was also very proud of his sword and knife collection.
Brian has been sober almost two years- he was super proud of this accomplishment! He received his high school equivalency diploma (GED) from Crowley on April 21, 1992.
Mr. Hoffpauir is survived by his daughter, Felicia Lanerie and husband Justin of Rayne; grandchildren, Jazmine Lanerie, Justin Lanerie Jr and Jordan Lanerie; brothers, Warren “Peanut” Hoffpauir and wife Virginia of Crowley, Tony Hoffpauir of Crowley and Edmond Hoffpauir of Crowley; sisters, Nikki Pousson Harder and husband Louis of Crowley, Romona Hoffpauir and husband Jerry of Crowley, and Marie Hoffpauir of Crowley; godchildren, Drake Romero of Crowley and Aryka Hoffpauir of Tomball, Texas; six nieces; five nephews and six great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Hoffpauir Sr.; mother, Barbara Navarre Pousson; and his step-father Lloyd Pousson.

Donald Joseph Kibodeaux
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:30 am Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Donald Joseph Kibodeaux, 71, who passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond.
Fr. Jason Vidrine, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Friday from 4 pm to 9 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 11 am. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, meeting his fishing friends for coffee in the mornings, and especially spending time with his great- nieces and nephew, Lauren, Nicole, and Mason. He worked over 30 years in seismograph in the oil industry.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vickie Guidry Kibodeaux of Crowley; brother-in-law, Tom Guidry, of Crowley; and six nieces and nephews, Vickie, Derrick, Josh, Brooke, Tina, and Allison.
Don is preceded in death by his son, Scott J. Kibodeaux; his parents, Stanville and Cecile Daigle Kibodeaux; one sister, Merline Wright; and two brothers, Allen and Mike Kibodeaux.

James Lee McCoy
Mr. James Lee McCoy passed away at home on Monday, July 22, 2019.
Visitation was be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Thursday, July 25, with funeral services followed at noon at Christ United Methodist Church.
Officiating was Rev. Mark Goins of Christ United Methodist Church. A private family interment followed.
Jim was born on Jan. 22, 1935, and was a resident of Shreveport for 54 years. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Joy Sunday School Class and Methodist Men.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Tillman McCoy; his grandson, Matthew Douglas McCoy; and brother, Bill McCoy.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Luceil “Bootsie” Brocato McCoy; daughter, Kelly McCoy Jones and husband Charles Sam Jones; sons, Dr. Michael McCoy and Steven McCoy and wife Neng; and three grandchildren, Kelsey Jones, Claire Jones and Katie McCoy.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Michael McCoy, Steven McCoy, Sam Jones, Harvey Christian and Curtis Williams.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home in Ruston.

Kathleen Christian Goebel
Funeral services for Mrs. Kathleen Christian Goebel, 89, of Elton, will be held at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings on Tuesday, July 30, at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in China Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Visitation for Mrs. Goebel will begin on Monday, July 29, in Jennings from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. It will resume on Tuesday at 9 a.m. and continue until time of service.
Mrs. Goebel passed away on July 25, 2019, in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Kathleen earned her Bachelor of Science Degree at Baylor in 1950 and attended University of Colorado at Boulder. She worked as a chemist at Columbia Southern in 1950 and 1951. She taught school at Navasota High School from 1951-1952. Mrs. Goebel then worked as a chemist at Pantex Ordinance-Atomic Energy Commission in Amarillo from 1952-53.
After returning to Louisiana, Mrs. Goebel was a substitute teacher in the Jefferson Davis Parish Schools from 1954 until 1978. In 1978, she was a realtor with Mary Deshotel Realty. She served as an executive officer for the Rice Belt Board of Realtors from 1980 to 1981. In 1982, she became a licensed Real Estate Broker and founded Goebel Properties.
She was a Charter member of Women’s Council of Realtors. She served as a director of the La. Farm & Land Institute from 1983 to 1986.
Mrs. Goebel was extremely active throughout her career and was equally as active in her personal life. She served as a Den mother for the Boy Scouts of America from 1968 to 1973. She was the organist for the First Baptist Church 1945-1947 and again from 1961 to 1977 and active with WMU. She was also an active member of the Entre Nous Club and Order of the Eastern Star.
Those left to cherish Kathleen’s memory are her two sons, Kyle (Carolyn) Goebel of Carencro and Kurt (Tina) Goebel of Elton; her daughter, Lores (Fred) Roeder of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Derrick (Cierra) Goebel, David (Cara) Roeder, Kevin (Casey) Goebel, Conner Bouillion, Jordan Bouillion; and great-grandchildren, Emma Goebel, Elizabeth Roeder, Joshua Goebel and Claire Goebel.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Harvey Reynold Goebel; her parents, Herbert and Ruth Pennington Christian; and her brother Herman “Gene” Christian.

Fred Russell Stafford III
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, July 27, at 1 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata for Fred Russell Stafford III, 67, who died Thursday, July 25, 2019, at 2 a.m. at The Carpenter House in Lafayette.
Fred was a 1970 graduate of Crowley High School and went on to Louisiana Tech University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree and was a member of the 1973 Division II National Championship football team.
He had a great work ethic and a passion for his hobbies, most notably his hunting club in Ruston and Louisiana Tech football. He loved his wife, his children and grandchildren (his monkeys) very dearly.
While Fred did not have any sons, that didn’t hinder his ability as a leader of men. From his sons-in-law, to his hunting buddies to his Louisiana Tech family to his work friends. They were all affected by example and directly by his leadership.
Fr. Andrew Schumacher, parochial vicar at Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, officiated for the services.
The family requested visiting hours Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A rosary was recited Saturday at 11 a.m.
Burial was in St. Lawrence Catholic Church Cemetery.
Fred is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debora Hundley “Bedo” Stafford of Lafayette; three daughters, Amanda S. Klisanin and husband Ivan of Lafayette, Emily S. Prochaska and husband Alex of Lafayette, and Megan S. Leonards and husband Bryan Jr. of Lafayette; one sister, Kandi S. Manning and husband Douglas of Cold Springs, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Joseph Klisanin, Olive Klisanin, Anika Klisanin, Ever Klisanin, Bishop Prochaska, Annie Prochaska, John Stafford Prochaska, Charlotte Prochaska, Bryan “Tripp” Leonards III, and Lucy Leonards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Russell Stafford Jr. and Ora Faye Smith Stafford.
