Nursing Home Week observed at The Ellington

RAYNE - Residents, guests and volunteers at The Ellington enjoyed a number of events held during Nursing Home Week, May 12-17, 2019.
Sunday morning welcomed all moms during Mother’s Day for coffee and doughnuts during a 9 a.m. social.
The annual balloon release and social was enjoyed Monday morning with a theme “Nacho Average Nursing Home.”
Monday’s activities continued with an arts and crafts session when residents decorated maracas, in addition to a tasty nacho bar fiesta.
“Decades Day” was the theme on Tuesday when residents enjoyed dancing through the decades music, an afternoon social and a fun game of bingo.
Wednesday was designated “Wacky Day” when residents enjoyed a fun afternoon show by Mitch Richard the Magician.
Tailgating games were enjoyed on Thursday, “Sports Day.” The afternoon included a special sweet addition when residents made their own sundaes.
The week-long observance was concluded on Friday, “Cajun Day,” when games of Pokeno were enjoyed prior to a delicious crawfish boil lunch, followed by an afternoon of live music provided by the Pas Bon Playboy Band.
Special thanks are extended to the many volunteers and helpers who assisted with the many activities provided for Ellington residents.
Thanks are extended to The Crawfish Stop for providing and boiling the delicious crawfish meal for the annual Friday lunch.
