June wedding set for Dauzat-Corzine
Tracy and Chris Dauzat of Marksville and Rachel and Tim Corzine of Crowley are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Cassie Dauzat of Marksville and Brennan Corzine of Crowley.
The bride-elect is a 2014 graduate of Avoyelles Public Charter School and a 2018 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business. She is presently employed as an accountant with Pneumatic and Hydraulic Co., LLC, in Lafayette.
Cassie is the granddaughter of Grace Armand of Cottonport and the late Armetha and Ben Dauzat of Brouillette.
The prospective groom graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in 2013 before attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in business in 2017. He is currently an accountant at Louisiana Healthcare Group in Lafayette.
Brennan is the son of the late Amanda Bikar Corzine of Esther. His grandparents are Nora Lynch of Esther, Mike Corzine of Crowley, Belinda Corzine of Egan and Brenda Istre of Crowley and the late Wayne Istre.
The couple will be wed at sunset on Tuesday, June 4, during a tropical oceanside ceremony on the island of Antigua.
Pansy Pearl Truax LeJeune
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Pansy Pearl Truax LeJeune, 102, who passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019.
Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Iota. A rosary will be recited at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
Mrs. Pansy enjoyed family and life. Always had a cup of coffee, cookies and biscuits for her family and guest whether you wanted it or not. Also gave personalized Halloween bags of the good candy to her entire family.
She is survived by one daughter, Marie Ann LeJeune Dailey and her husband Richard; one son, James Allen LeJeune and his wife Barbara Bollich LeJeune; her sisters in law, Audrey Truax, Charlesa Dupaquier and her husband Norton, Verna LeJeune, and Cherie LeJeune; nine grandchildren, Carlinna Bertrand and her husband Stacy, Brenda Boulet and her husband Steven, Kenneth LeJeune and his wife Angel, Erica Sheppard and her husband William, Brent LeJeune and his wife Lindsay, Colleen Robichaux and her husband Tony, Kevin Dailey and his wife Lori, Brian Dailey and his wife Susan, and Paula Mire and her husband Jason; thirty-five great-grandchildren, Christian, Jordan, Jill and Lance Bertrand, Steven Michael, Alex, Taylor, Ben, Brad, Sara, and Hayden Boulet, John Thomas, and Josh LeJeune, David John, Maddy, Caroline Rapp, and their father, David Rapp, Wyatt and Walker LeJeune, Ashley Moody, Justin and Austin Robichaux, Derek, Robbie, McKenzi, Cassidy, Christopher, Amelia, Macy, Ahneli Dailey, Addy and Annah Dailey, Connor, Cameron, Bryson, and Kendall Mire; sixteen great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. LeJeune is preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Mark LeJeune; her parents, Charles Truax and Julia Ann Regan Truax; two brothers, Shelby and Willis Truax; and great-great-grandchild, Sophia Moody.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth LeJeune, Brent LeJeune, Kevin Dailey, Brian Dailey, Jordan Bertrand, and Derek Dailey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Christian Bertrand, Lance Bertrand, Steven Michael Boulet, Ben Boulet, Brad Boulet, Hayden Boulet, John Thomas and Josh LeJeune David John Rapp, Wyatt and Walker LeJeune, Justin and Austin Robichaux, Connor Mire, Kendall Mire, Bryson Mire, and Christopher Dailey.
The family would like to thank Margaret Regan, Lettie LeJeune, J.W. LeJeune for the many acts of kindness, Dr. Aertker and his staff for their care and Shelby Bellon who always answered the call when needed.

Shelby Ann Maris
A Mass of Christian burial for Shelby Ann Maris, 80, of Mermentau will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mermentau on Tuesday, June 4 at 10 a.m. with Father Randall Moreau officiating.
Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Monday, June 3 from 3 p.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. on Monday evening. Shelby will be laid to rest in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery. Carrying Shelby to her final resting place in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery will be Andrus Jay Maris, Mark Anthony Morvant, Gordon Maris, Shawn Maris, Michael Maris, Shawn Maris, Jr., Justin Maris and Jacob Joseph Maris. Honorary pallbearers will be Kason Chaisson, Kellie Lege and Crystal Morvant.
Shelby was born in Jennings, LA on December 21, 1938 to Gustave Godeaux and Eudia Cormier Godeaux. She was called to her Heavenly Father on May 30, 2019. Shelby was a Librarian. She loved to play Bingo, pokeno, gardening, baking and doing volunteer work. Shelby never met a stranger and she loved to visit with family and friends. Shelby was a kind and loving person, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Shelby is survived by four sons, Markham Maris of Mermentau, Gordon Maris (Stacy) of Jennings, Shawn Maris of Mermentau, Jacob Maris (Amy) of Mermentau; one daughter, Jackie Richard (Phillip) of Mermentau; two sisters, Gay Guidry of Mermentau, Corita Hoffpauir of Roberts Cove; twelve grandchildren & eleven great grandchildren.
Shelby is preceded in death by her parents, Gustave & Eudia Godeaux; her beloved husband, Harold Maris; her daughter, Dianna Miller; her brothers, Gary Godeaux, Gerald Godeaux, and Willie “Gustave” Godeaux.
