Mary Louise Handy

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church for Mary Louise Handy, 82, who passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019, at her home surrounded by family.
She was born Jan. 3, 1937, to the late Willie Zachary and Albertina Wiltz.
Services will be conducted by Father Godwin Imoru.
Interment will be in South Crowley Cemetery.
Mary Louise Handy, also known as Betty, was a kind, loving person who only wanted everyone to be on the same page as she used to love to say. She loved her children and family unconditionally and would give you the world if she could. She loved to bake and share her cakes with family, friends and stranger.
She was a happy, loving, and caring person and she loved to talk. She will be sadly missed by her children, family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Horatio (Lesia) Handy of Youngsville, Granville (Pam) Handy of Arnaudville, Dwayne Handy and Renae (Chad) Broussard of Crowley; one sister, Charlesa Bernard of Crowley; two brothers, Terry Zachary and Kenneth Zachary of Jennings; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Albertina Wiltz and Willie Zachary; husband, Henry Peter Handy Sr.; daughter, Sheena Sherwan Zachary.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 31, at St. Theresa Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Lester Charles Racca Sr.

Lester was born in Crowley on Feb. 21, 1954, to Onezime and Lillian Trahan Racca. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on May 25, 2019.
He loved to fish and shrimp. He was also mechanically inclined. Lester especially loved spending time with his family. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Lester is survived by his mother, Lillian Trahan Racca of Crowley; nine sons, Lester Racca Jr. of Rio Hondo, Texas, Ron Racca of New Orleans, Charles Racca of Spring Field, Michigan, James Brown of San Antonio, Texas, William Madere of Luling, Travis Istre of Houma, Chad Futch of Oak Grove, Nathan Tindall of Crowley, and Justin Tindall of Bastrop; three sisters, Jessica Racca of Mermentau, Linda Vail and Edna Vail, both of Crowley; one brother, Roice Racca of Mermentau; numerous nieces and nephews as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lester was preceded in death by his father, Onezime Racca; two sisters, Jessie Racca and Barbara Hoffpauir
Funeral services for Lester Charles Racca Sr., 65, of Lake Arthur, were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Monday, May 27, at 7 p.m. with Jimmy Broussard officiating.
A gathering of family and friends was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings beginning at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 27, until his service at 7 p.m.
There was no graveside service for, as per his wishes, Lester was cremated.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that money offerings be made toward his funeral expense.

Eula Mae Lormand

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Eula Mae Lormand, 92, who died Sunday, May 26, 2019, in Crowley.
Fr. Jason Vidrine officiated for the services. The family requested visiting hours be held Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. A rosary was recited Monday evening at 6 p.m.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Lormand is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Lormand Brown and husband James of Kenner and Vickie Lormand Bordelon and husband Stanley of Simmesport; one son, Todd James Lormand and wife Gayle of Crowley; seven grandchildren, Kyle Brown, Tracy Gati, Anita Galland, Kassy Feduccia, Joshua Bordelon, Blaine Lormand, and Carlie Lormand; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Loyce Lormand; her parents, Alexandre and Marquerite Gaspard Feverjean; three sisters, Hazel Broussard, Nola Landry, and Lonie Lemaire; and six brothers, Willie Suire, Dalton Feverjean Sr., Lovelace Feverjean, Roy Feverjean, Doris Feverjean, and J.C. Feverjean.
Pallbearers were Blaine Lormand, Kyle Brown, Joshua Bordelon, Koby Galland, Tony Feduccia, and Michael Gati
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Southwind Nursing Center and Encore Health and Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care that Mrs. Eula received over her stays at both facilities and also Jamie Rozas and Caitlin Istre both of Hospice of Acadiana for the compassionate care they provided to Mrs. Lormand.
