Mildred Ann Richard Meaux

The family of Mildred Ann Richard Meaux, 66, wish to have a gathering of friends and family Friday, May 17, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 5 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley.
She passed away May 13, 2019, at Acadia General Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Austin Joseph Meaux of Crowley; two sons, Adam Paul Meaux and wife Angelle of Church Point, and Nathan John Meaux of Crowley; two sisters, Theresa Lynette Manuel of Lake Charles, and Jacquelyn Lee Lalonde of Eunice; two grandchildren, Madison Grace Meaux and Jace Austin Meaux; three sisters-in-law, Carol Simoneaux and husband Tilford, Helena Meaux and partner Joey Denicola, and Pamela Hebert and husband Wayne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Meaux is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Mary Daigle Richard; and her brothers-in law, Floyd Manuel and Richard Meaux.

Daniel Louis Lalande

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Daniel Louis Lalande, 85, who died Monday, May 13, 2019, in Crowley.
Fr. Brent Smith, parochial vicar of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will officiate for the services.
The family requests visiting hours Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited Wednesday at 6 p.m. by Deacon Dan Didier.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
Mr. Lalande was born Feb. 5, 1934, to Louis and Adlass Landry Lalande. He was born in rural Vermillion Parish and moved to Crowley as a young man, where he met and married his wife of 52 years, Andree’ Maraist, until the time of her passing in 2007.
He was a firefighter with the Crowley Fire Department for 34 years, where he retired as captain. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, the Crowley Town  Club, and Knights of Columbus Council 1318.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting as well as camping with his wife. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Lalande is survived by one daughter, Jean Lalande and partner Dale Lagneaux of Rayne; two sons, Paul Lalande and wife Celeste of Church Point, and Greg Lalande and fiancé Lisa Greenfield Kennedy of Baton Rouge; one sister, Faye Perry and husband Norris of Crowley; five grandchildren, Krista Lalande Chiasson and husband Blake of Ponchatoula, Dr. Sarah Lalande of Lafayette, Alex Lalande and wife Ellyn of Church Point, Claire Lalande Gatte and husband Dillon of Church Point, and Jaclyn Lalande of Church Point; three great-grandchildren, Bryce and Kade Chiasson, Philip Lalande and baby Lalande on the way.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Andree’ Maraist Lalande; granddaughter, Dominique Nicole; and his parents, Louis and Adlass Landry Lalande.
Pallbearers will be Alex Lalande, Duane Perry, Warren Clark, Dale Hensgens, Riley Landry Jr, David Landry, Donald Borel and Steven Edmiston.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, 910 N. Eastern Ave., Crowley, LA 70526; Rayne Catholic Elementary, 407 S. Polk St., Rayne, LA 70578; or Holy Ghost Catholic School, 507 N. Oak St., Hammond, LA 70401; in lieu of flowers.
