Stewart Maurice Laurents, II

RAYNE - Funeral services for Stewart Maurice Laurents ("Maurice" to all who knew him), will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 3:00 PM in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne. Reverend Micah Collins, Pastor of Elizabeth Memorial Baptist Church in Branch, will officiate.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 9:00 AM until service time in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne.

Maurice passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 in a Lafayette hospital.

Survivors include his sons, Brice Laurents of Rayne, and Blaine Laurents of Rayne; mother, Carletta Myers Lantier of Rayne; father Stewart Laurents, I and wife, Jackie of Rayne; sister, Dawn Laurents-Reviere of Rayne; paternal grandfather, W.F. Laurents of Rayne; aunts, Gwen Myers, Suzette Richard, Susan Laurents, and Beth Trahan; uncle, Tony Myers; niece and Goddaughter, Landri Reviere of Wahiawa, HI; nephew, Hudson Reviere of Rayne; and Godson, Keavin Richard.

Preceding Maurice in death were his paternal grandmother, Olita Constantin Laurents; maternal grandparents, Frances "Pat" Myers and Duford Myers; and uncle, Charles Myers.

Louise Romero Primeaux

A Mass of Christian burial for Louise Romero Primeaux, 82, will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m.
Mrs. Primeaux died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, at 5:27 p.m. at Pelican Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation on Maurice.
Mrs. Primeaux was a native of Kaplan and lifelong resident of Morse. She retired from the Acadia Parish School Board as a cafeteria worker.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ladies Altar Society, and Rosary Group.
Father Neil Petit, pastor of Sr. John the Baptist, Immaculate Conception, and St. Aloysius, will officiate for the services.
The family requests visiting hours to begin on Friday at 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 8 a.m. until the time of her service at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Mrs. Primeaux is survived by one son, Eric Primeaux and wife Denise of Morse; one daughter, Monica Pitre and husband Louis of Maurice; three grandchildren, Brittany P. Romero and husband Brent of Morse, Kevin Pitre and wife Jodie of California, and Jessica Walker and husband Barrett of Texas; five great-grandchildren, Connor Romero, Caroline Romero, Charlotte Pitre, Graham Walker and Riley Pitre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland “Clem” Primeaux; parents, Julien and Irene Romero; two brothers, Whitney and Sidney Romero; one sister, Olita R. Primeaux.
Pallbearers will be Brent Romero, Willis John Romero, Kurt Guidry, Joe Hebert, Chester Guidry, Jonathan LeLeaux and Clofe LeLeaux Jr.
The family of Mrs. Primeaux would like to extend a special thanks to St. Joseph’s Hospice and all the staff at Pelican Point.
