Vorise Roy Wilridge

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m. at Bethel CME Church in Crowley for Vorise Roy Wilridge, 85, who passed away at his home in Crowley on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at 4:15 a.m.
Rev. George Chretian, pastor of Bethel CME Church, will be officiating for the services.
Burial will be in the Branch Cemetery in Branch.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., all at the Bethel CME Church in Crowley.
Vorise Roy Wilridge was born on Aug. 26, 1933, to the late Francis Guidry Wilridge and Lawrence Wilridge Sr.
Vorise was an amazing father, grandfather, son, uncle and friend. He loved driving 18-wheelers, cutting grass and doing work around the house. He loved helping people when he could, and his passion was his suits, boots and cowboy hats that he would not have been seen without.
Vorise was a faithful and active member of Maryland Chapel Church in Branch until he decided to move his membership to Bethel CME church in Crowley. At Bethel he was one of the eldest ushers and was loved dearly by everyone.
He leaves to cherish his amazing memories his wife Mary L. Wilridge of Church Point; his companion of 38 years, Westanna Rochester of Crowley; five sons Robert Wilridge of Houston, Texas, David Martin of Crowley, Vorise (Farrah) Wilridge of Opelousas, James (Lisa) Wilridge of Richard and Joseph (Rainer) Wilridge Sr. of Church Point; four daughters Darla (Gerald) Colomb, Darlene (Dwan) Seaton of Houston, Texas, Casandra (Junius) Eaglin, of Scott and Lakeisha (Allen) Lavine of Orange, Texas; one brother, Percy (Jenny Lou) Wilridge of Lake Charles; three sisters, Florida Gibson, Orelia (Clarence) Leger Sr. of Church Point and Linda Landry of Lake Charles; one step-son, Kevin Wilridge of Houston, Texas; four step-daughters, Angela King, Paulette Wilridge, Colette (Conrad) Dequir and Marylouise (Calvin) Scott Sr.; 52 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Sr. and Francis Guidry Wilridge; one son, Roy Lee Wilridge; two brothers, Lawrence Jr. and Ennis Wilridge; one grandson, Jerrell Andrus; one sister-in-law Rose Marie Meche Wilridge; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Landry Sr. and Earl Gibson Jr.; and two step-daughters Karen and Kimberly Wilridge.

Sgt. Forrest John Kritzer

February 16, 1933 ~ February 16, 2019
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Sgt. Forrest John Kritzer, 86, who died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.
He will be laid to rest at Holy Rosary Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services.
Mr. Kritzer was born on Feb. 16, 1933, to Andrew and Agnes Kritzer and hailed from Lyons Point.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his children, Cynthia Kritzer Duncan, Micheal Kritzer, and Mark Kritzer; step-children, Cindy, Rudy, Judy, Randy, and Kenneth; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Agnes Kritzer; his sister Leona Cormier and husband Hodeaux Cormier; his grandson, James Bodin; and his great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Palmature.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; and Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 10 a.m. until the procession departs for the church at 1:15 p.m.

Clint Anthony Thibodeaux

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Clint Anthony Thibodeaux, 56, who passed away Feb. 18, 2019, in Lafayette.
Deacon Dennis LaCroix, of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, will be officiating for the services.
The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Wednesday from noon to the time of service.
Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
Clint graduated Notre Dame Catholic High School in 1980. During his high school days he had basketball scoring records where he achieved All State. He received a scholarship from Nichols State University, then transferred to USL at the request of Coach Bobby Pascal and Coach Bolman. While attending USL, he competed in the NCAA Basketball Tournament in 1982, 1983 and made it into the Final Four in 1984.
Clint earned a Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Engineering.
More importantly he was a loving son, brother, and father.
He is survived by two daughters, Kristen Thibodeaux of Bossier City, and Sydnie Thibodeaux of Baton Rouge; his mother, Flo Schexnider Thibodeaux of Rayne; one sister, Dana Thibodeaux of Crowley; three brothers, Marcus Thibodeaux of Rayne, Bryan Thibodeaux and wife Kimberly of Lafayette, and Ryan Thibodeaux of Rayne; and his best friend, Darryl Theriot of New Iberia.
Clint is preceded in death by his father, Norris Thibodeaux.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks for all prayer warriors, Lafayette General Medical Center, Hospice of Acadiana, and Courtyard Manor Nursing Home for their care, thoughts, and compassion given to Clint and his family.

Hit-and-run fatality Crime Stoppers’ focus

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding a fatal hit-and-run crash which occurred on Feb. 11, at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Lovell Street near Crowley.
The victim, identified as Jeanette Clifton, 78, of Crowley, was struck by a vehicle believed to be traveling west on Lovell Street. The victim was walking home from a neighbor’s residence when she was struck.
A vehicle of interest was captured on home video surveillance. It is described as a light color, extended cab truck, possibly a Chevy or GMC make.
If you have any information regarding this hit-and-run fatality, you’re urged to call the tips line at 789-TIPS or download the P3 app on your mobile device to report your tip anonymously.
All callers will remain anonymous and can receive up to a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
