Olive Trahan Petitjean
Rayne - Olive Trahan Petitjean, a resident of Baton Rouge, and formerly a long time resident of Rayne, departed this earth on her 90th birthday, Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, to join her Heavenly Father and loved ones who preceded her in glory.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Kevin Bordelon, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will serve as celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery #2 Mausoleum.
Mrs. Petitjean was born and raised in Rayne, and she graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School, Class of 1946. She was employed at Mervine Kahn and was later a bookkeeper for her husband’s family business, Petitjean Radio and T.V. in Rayne. She was a member of Catholic Daughters Court 844, and a past President and lifetime member of the Rayne American Legion Auxiliary Unit 77. Olive and her husband, J.B., were actively involved in American Legion activities and conventions throughout Louisiana, the south, and the nation.
Mrs. Petitjean is survived by her daughter, Maureen Frey and husband Paul Dewey of Baton Rouge; son, Bryan Petitjean and wife Tuttie of Apollo Beach, FL; grandchildren, Brandon Frey and wife Nicole of Baton Rouge, Celeste Delafield and husband Mark of Prairieville, and Douglas Frey and wife Melissa of Zachary; great-grandchildren, Anna and Lauren Delafield and Theresa Frey; step-great-grandchild, Andrew Gould; and special nieces and nephews, Michael, Mary, David and Marla Trahan.
Preceding Mrs. Petitjean in death were her husband, Emile J.B. Petitjean Jr.; son, Carroll James Petitjean; brother, Joseph Trahan; an infant brother; and parents, Cyprien and Mary Trahan.
Visitation will be held at Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne, on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., with a Rosary being recited at noon.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael Trahan, David Trahan, Mark Delafield, Brandon Frey, Douglas Frey and Donald Petitjean.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Amber Terrace Assisted Living and to Landmark Nursing Home of Baton Rouge for their care of Olive during the last four years of her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alzheimers Services of the Capitol Area, 3772 North Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70806.

Nazida “Ziddy” Falcon Petitjean
Rayne - Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, for Nazida “Ziddy” Falcon Petitjean, 75, who died Monday, Nov. 5, at Lafayette General Medical Center Hospital in Lafayette.
Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #1 in Rayne.
Survivors include her husband, Theophile Joseph “T.J.” Petitjean of Rayne; two sons, Brian Petitjean and spouse Carol of Rayne and Tremie Petitjean of Rayne; two daughters, June Petitjean and spouse Jessica of Duson and Margarite Petitjean Carriere and spouse Michael of Duson; six grandchildren, Paul Istre, Kristian Petitjean, Taylor Carriere, Kenny Carriere, Tremie Petitjean II and Emma Grace Petitjean; and sister, Julia Falcon Breaux and spouse Calice of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Falcon Sr. and Julia Bourque Falcon; two brothers, Frank Falcon Jr. and Clyde Falcon; and five sisters, Ruth Falcon Cavalier, Louella Falcon Provost, Virgina Falcon Meyer, Jeanne Ozenne Breaux and Pearl Ozenne Trosclair.
A Rosary was scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 6:30 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne.
The family requested visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, on Wednesday, Nov. 7, between 3-9 p.m. and on Thursday, Nov. 8, between 8-10 am.

Gerald “Mannie” Bollich
March 9, 1930 ~ November 4, 2018
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Gerald “Mannie” Bollich announces his passing on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at Eunice Manor with loving family by his side at the age of 88.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata.
Entombment will follow in the St. Lawrence Mausoleum with Father Joseph Tran Celebrant.
Mannie served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a farmer, business man and entrepreneur who had a creative mind and always looking for the next project.
He and his wife Delia made sausage for many years and they were known for their smoked sausage. He thoroughly enjoyed buying and selling farm equipment and he bled John Deere Green. He loved to cook for family and friends especially in his famous smoker.
Mannie was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his four daughters, Donna Chachere and husband Robby, Rowena Thibodeaux and husband John, Roxanne Richard and fiancé Snoopy, and Sharlene Leger and husband Danny, all of Eunice; his 13 grandchildren, Brittany Cormier and husband Caleb, Derek Chachere and wife Megan, Ashley Chachere and fiancé Malcolm, Lacey Ray and husband Scotty, Sally Reed and husband,Dexter, Adam Maxfield and fiancé Kaylee, Trae Thibodeaux and wife Kiahanna, Sara Thibodeaux, Dex Richard and wife Kristen, Broch Leger and wife Kelli, Lauren Rich and husband Raymond, Allie and Brandon Leger; his 14 great grandchildren, Addisyn and Jax Cormier, Brandt, Parker and Hayes Chachere, Ava Ray, Emma and Baylor Reed, Aria Maxfield, Owen and Grantley Thibodeaux, Tate Katheryn Richard, Briley and Harper Leger and Beckett Rich; a brother, Gregory “Honey Bee” Bollich and wife Patricia of Eunice; five sisters, Judy Hollier and husband, Kenneth of Lafayette, Dianne “Tootie” Elkins of Denver, Colorado, Barbara “Penny” LeJeune and husband James of Egan, Sylvia “Tibbie” Lintzen of Eunice, Clara “Tay” Miller of Lafayette; five sisters-in-law, Dorothy B. Thibodeaux LeBlanc of Rayne, Sylvia Bollich of Cheneyville, Jackie Bollich of Lafayette, Willa Dean Bollich of Eunice and Elrina Bollich of Mowata; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Delia Breaux Bollich; two daughters, Debra Ann Bollich and Rebecca Ann Maxfield Stelly; grandson, Ryan Chatagnier; his parents, Frank Jr and Barbara Zaunbrecher Bollich; brothers, Elmo “Whitie” Bollich, Austin “Will” Bollich, Lawrence “Mookie” Bollich, Donald “Blackie” Bollich; his sisters, Loretta Gaspard, Elaine “Noonie” Turk; brothers-in-law, Dr. Carl E. Turk, Gary Elkins, Luke Lintzen, Durland Miller, Burnis Cooper and Clifford Thibodeaux.
At the request of the family, visitation began at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, Nov. 6, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 8 a.m. until time of services. A Rosary was recited at 6 p.m. on Tuesday led by Loretta Kurta.
Carrying Mannie to his final resting place will be Derek Chachere, Dex Richard, Adam Maxfield, Trae Thibodeaux, Broch Leger, Brandon Leger, Paul Washington, Kurt Sittig, Dexter Reed, Scotty Ray, Caleb Cormier, Raymond Rich and Malcolm Saltzman.

Jake G. Spallino
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Jake G. Spallino, 79, who passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, at 8:30 a.m. at the St. Frances Nursing and Rehab-Center in Oberlin.
Deacon Jerry Wyble from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point will be officiating for the services.
Burial will take place at a later date in Acadia Resthaven Mausoleum in Crowley.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. until time of services, all in the funeral home chapel in Crowley. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 6:30 in the evening in the funeral home chapel.
Survivors include one daughter, Alisa and husband Shawn Waldrep of Havelock, North Carolina; three brothers, Joe Spallino of Crowley, Albert Spallino of New Orleans and Jimmy Spallino of Texas; one sister, Jenny Spallino of Houma; two grandchildren, Eleni and husband Manuel Arritola of Calfornia, and Brandon Waldrep of Havelock, North Carolina; one great-granddaughter, Madeline Arritola of Calfornia.
Mr. Spallino was preceded in death by one daughter, Anita Spallino; one son, Jeffery Spallino; his parents, Albert and Anne O. Spallino; three brothers, Sam, Johnny and Steve Spallino.

Amy Violet Foreman Dugan
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Crowley for Amy Violet Foreman Dugan, 92, who died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at 7:46 a.m. at The Carpenter House of Acadiana in Lafayette.
Rev. Peter Gaughan, pastor of First United Methodist Church, will officiate for the services.
The family requested visiting hours Monday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to service time at First United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Dugan was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 69 years. She retired after having worked for the telephone company (Ma Bell, South Central Bell and A T & T) for 37 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cared for her family at every opportunity she had.
She and her late husband, “Buddy,” enjoyed traveling and did so for many years.
Mrs. Dugan is survived by one daughter, Denise D. Maddie of Crowley; one son, Gregory Dugan and wife Stephanie of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Rusty B. Maddie and wife Becky of Maurice, Kimberly M. Knight and husband Aaron of Crowley, Lauren M. Bischoff and husband Scott of Iowa; six great-grandchildren, Breyden Maddie, Brayden Choate, Landon Maddie, Adalynn Maddie, Kennedy L. Knight and Finley Knight; son-in-law, Joseph Maddie Jr. of Crowley; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren A. “Buddy” Dugan; one son, Warren A. Dugan Jr.; her parents, Jesse and Nora Pryor Foreman; one sister, Faye F. Edinger; two brothers, Jesse D. Foreman and Bobby Foreman.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Maddie, Aaron Knight, Scott Bischoff, Brian Foreman, Ron Edinger and Breyden Maddie.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Benoit, Bryan Benoit, Vaughn Benoit, Barry Edinger, Jessie Donald Foreman, Kathleen Latiolais and Valarie Hayes.

Gilbert William Hains
Funeral services for Gilbert William Hains, 89, of Ebenezer, will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 10 a.m. in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne.
Deacon Denis LaCroix, of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Ebenezer Methodist Cemetery in Ebenezer.
Visitation began on Monday, Nov. 5, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m., in Gossen Funeral Home. Visitation continues on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Hains passed away on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, in a Rayne health care facility.
A native of Ebenezer, Mr. Hains farmed rice, soybeans, and crawfish for most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Hains was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest joy was being with and caring for his family.
Survivors include his sons, Nolton Joseph Hains and wife Phyllis of Ebenezer, Ronald Keith Hains and wife Kathryn of Rayne, and Charles William Hains of Ebenezer; sisters, Sybil Hains Deville of New Roads, and Mariette Hains of Rayne; grandchildren, Emily Katheryn Hains, Robert Austin Hains, Trent Joseph Hains, and Beau Walton Hains; great-grandchildren, Carolyn Kathryn Kennedy, Carmen Meche, and Hunter Joseph Hains; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding Mr. Hains in death were his wife, Juanita Faulk Hains; parents, Robert Joseph Hains and Mariette LaCroix Hains; brother, George Hains Sr.; sister, Lula Mae Hains Ousse; and granddaughter, Hanna Claire Hains.
