Carrie LeJeune Truax

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Estherwood for Carrie LeJeune Truax, 91, who died Friday, June 8, 2018, in Crowley.
Fr. Randall P. Moreau will officiate for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours be held Monday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. A rosary will be recited Monday evening at 6 p.m. and Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Estherwood Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Truax is survived by two daughters, Loretta T. Vondenstein of Highlands, Texas, and Doris T. Faulk and her husband Mitchell E. Faulk of Egan; two sons, Floyd H. Truax and his wife Peggy of Estherwood and Clyde W. Truax of Egan; one brother, J.W. “Bubba” LeJeune and his wife Letty of Egan; one sister, Francis Schexnayder of Egan; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Anderson Truax; her parents, Gustave and Maggie LeJeune; and one great-grandson, Hunter Gage Truax.

Percy Joseph Meaux

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday June 11, 2018, in the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Percy Joseph Meaux, 82, who died Friday June 8, 2018, in Crowley.
Rev. James Townley will officiate for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours be held Sunday from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Abshire Cemetery.
Mr. Meaux is survived by his loving wife, Edna C. Meaux, of fifty-five years; three daughters, Susan Elaine Fillingim and her husband Chuck of Pensacola, Florida, Kathryn Gayle Meaux of Corpus Christie, Texas, and Becky Meaux of Lake Arthur; two sons, John Randy Meaux of Vidor, Texas, and Terrence Meaux of Lake Arthur; one stepdaughter, Sharon Primeaux of Crowley; two sisters, Anita and Anna, both of Winnie, Texas; one brother, Reese Meaux of Winnie; three grandchildren, Michelle Knight of Pasadena, Texas, Adam Meaux and his girlfriend Meghanne of Spring, Texas, and Jake Martin of Lake Arthur; four step-grandchildren, Heather Marceaux and her husband Dale of Lindsey, Oklahoma, Shannon Primeaux of Jennings, Larry Andrews of Vidor, and Justin Andrews of Bridge City, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Walker of Pasadena, Landon Meaux of Frisco, Texas, and Harper Meaux of Spring; and four step- great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Brooke-Lynn and Aubrey Marceaux, all of Lindsey, and Michael Andrews of Vidor.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Anita Fontenot Meaux; one sister, Betty; and one brother, Tony.

Charles Brockton Brown

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Branch for Mr. Charles Brockton Brown, 54, who passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018, in Providence, Rhode Island.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pastor Craig Gregory will be officiating the funeral service.
Mr. Brown leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Mary Virginia Brown of Crowley; two brothers, Troy Blaine Brown (Deborah) of Lafayette, and Timothy B. Brown of Crowley; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his father, Albert L. Brown; his maternal grandparents, Woodrow and Laura C. Yokum; and paternal grandparents, George and Ivy Lee Brown.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Olivia Arcane David Monroe

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, in St. Mary Purification Catholic Church in Houston, Texas, for Olivia Arcane David Monroe, who died Friday, June 1, 2018.
Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Houston from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the rosary at 9:30 a.m.
Olivia Arcane David Monroe was born Nov. 10, 1948, in Crowley. Olivia was the only daughter of Annie Mae and Junius David. She attended St. Theresa Catholic Elementary School and Ross High School.
After high school graduation, Olivia pursued her education at Southern State University for two years.
In 1969, Olivia married her high school sweetheart, Gus Monroe Jr. To the union born one child, Tiffany L. Monroe (the love of her heart) of Houston.
Olivia enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up: Chadrick Jr., Chellebey, and Cyvnee.
Many children will remember her from her many years as a day care provider.
Oliva spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She leaves to morn her passing her husband, Gus Monroe Jr. of Houston, Texas; daughter, Tiffany Monroe Taylor (Roman) of Houston, Texas; brother Byron P. David (James Etta) of Crowley; grandchildren, Chadrick, Chellebey James and Cyvnee of Houston, Texas; nieces, Debra Hunter Hollaway (god-daughter) of California and Delita Hunter Wyatt (John) of Mexico; nephews, Jeffery Hunter (Donna) of California and Blandon J. David of Washington, D.C.; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Annie Mae and Junius David; and two brothers, Alex AA Hunter (Williesteen) and Junius David Jr.

Ruth Morgan Boulet

Ebenezer - Funeral services for Ruth Morgan Boulet, age 98, of Indian Bayou will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 10 a.m. in Ebenezer Church of the Nazarene, Ebenezer.
Reverend Sherrill Stiles will officiate. Interment will follow in Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery, Indian Bayou.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 8, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. in Ebenezer Church of the Nazarene, and will continue on Saturday, June 9, from 8 a.m. until service time in the church.
Mrs. Boulet passed away on Tuesday, June 5, in her Indian Bayou home.
A native and lifelong resident of Indian Bayou, Mrs. Boulet was a faithful member of Ebenezer Church of the Nazarene for over 83 years. She served as church treasurer for many years, and was also a member of Acadia Holiness Association.
Mrs. Boulet loved the Lord with all her heart, and she lived out her faith through the care she gave to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who always had a pot of coffee ready for visitors. Her greatest joy in life was cooking for and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Boulet “Paulette” Faulk and husband C.W. of Indian Bayou and Jan Boulet Rivet and husband Carl of Indian Bayou; sons, Ronald Boulet and wife Mary Ann of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Teddy Boulet and wife Betty of Humble, TX, Joey Boulet and wife Carolyn of Indian Bayou, Windel Boulet and wife Mary of Crowley, and Dan Boulet and wife Myra of Indian Bayou; brother, Austin Morgan and wife Mabel of Crowley; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren on the way.
Preceding Mrs. Boulet in death were her husband, Paul E. Boulet; parents, Frank Morgan and Etta Daly Morgan; brothers, Frank Morgan, Leo Morgan, Sam Morgan and Willard Morgan; sister, Bernice Crawford; and granddaughter, Jennifer Harris.

Rayne Farmers Market this weekend

After a three-month delay due to inclement weather and the Frog Festival, Rayne’s Farmers Market returns this weekend on Saturday, June 9, at the Depot Square.
Co-sponsored by the Rayne Chamber of Commerce and the City of Rayne, the Farmers Market offers only home-made or home-grown items for sale by local and area artisans and farmers.
Prior markets have featured such items as handmade crafts, seasonal vegetables and produce, homemade jellies, sweets, bakery items, food and concessions.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. until noon with musical entertainment to also be provided for market goers. A refreshmnt booth will also be provided by the Chamber for purchases.
Anyone interests in becoming a vendor for the event should call the Chamber of Commerce office at 334-2332 or email raynechamber1@bellsouth.net or visit www.raynechamber.com or the chamber’s Facebook page for application forms and more information. A fee of $25 per booth space, per month is required.
