Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 20, at 3 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Gloria M. Welch, 67, who passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at 10:17 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
Pastor Glenn Messer, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene in Crowley, will be officiating for the services.
Burial will be held in the Acadia Resthaven Cemetery in Crowley.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Friday, April 20, at 10 a.m. until time of services all in the funeral home chapel in Crowley.
Survivors include three sons, Marty and wife Betsy Welch of Ville Platte, Gavin Welch of St. Martinville, Andrew “Drew” Welch of Crowley; her mother, Anna B. Mouton of Crowley; four sisters, Barbara and husband Arnold Hanks of Lyons Point, Betty and husband Kenneth Clostio of Crowley, Kathy and husband Mark Suire of Dallas, Texas, and Karen and husband Greg Lege of Crowley; one brother, Greg and wife Theresa Mouton of Crowley; and two step-grandchildren, Alyssa and Landen.
Ms. Mouton was preceded in death by father, Wilfred Mouton.

Herbert “Bosco” Thibodeaux

May 14, 1940 - April 18, 2018
With heavy hearts and great sadness the family of Herbert Thibodeaux announces his unexpected passing on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the age of 77, at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata.
Rite of Committal will follow in the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Cemetery with Father Joseph Tran Celebrant.
Herbert, known by many as “Bosco,” proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired with Acadia Parish as a school bus driver and also retired from Ball Marketing.
He was an avid farmer and had cattle.
A proud and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly especially by his wife of 55 years, Peggy D. Thibodeaux of the Richard Community; one son, Kevin Thibodeaux and wife Holly of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Lynn Walker and husband Keith of Merryville, and Michelle Simon and husband Chester Simon Jr. of Morse; two sisters, Lucy Lacasse of Iota and Myrtis Leonards and husband Dickie of Livonia; his seven joys of his life, his grandchildren Sydney, Allison, Maggie, Jadyn, Trey, Rebecca and Carsyn; and six great-grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
“The most painful goodbyes are the ones that are never said and never explained.”
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Celestine Daigle Thibodeaux; sister, Loicy Thibodeaux; and a brother-in-law, Blanc Lacasse.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, April 20, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, April 21, from 8 a.m. until time of services.
The Ladies Altar Society of Mowata will recite a Rosary at 6 p.m. Friday.

Kayden Bryce Lee

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Kayden Bryce Lee, two months old, who passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 2:30 a.m. at his home in Duson.
Pastor Berl Adams, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Church Point will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in Arceneaux Cemetery in Mire.

Shooting leaves man dead along I-10

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning shooting Sunday, April 22, which occurred on Interstate 10 just west of Duson.
Deputies responded to a vehicle crash where the vehicle was reported off of the roadway. It was discovered upon the arrival of emergency personnel that the vehicle's driver had actually been shot. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is believed that this incident may have begun in another parish; however, shots were heard being fired near the Duson I-10 exit as the victim's vehicle was traveling west bound. There are no suspects at this time.
The victim has been identified as Darrell Singleton, 31, of Breaux Bridge.
