Nuptial Mass unites Domingue, LaCombe

Couple to reside in Branch following wedding trip to Lake Tahoe

Brittany Michelle Domingue of Crowley and Christopher Dale LaCombe of Iota were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, April 14, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Crowley.
Fr. Matthew Higginbotham celebrated the noon Nuptial Mass.
The bride is the daughter of Kevin and Karen Domingue of Crowley. She is the granddaughter of Wilbert and Theresa Thevis of Crowley and Raymond and Genita Domingue of Rayne.
Brittany is a 2013 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and a 2017 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is presently employed with Claire Edwards, Attorney at Law, LLC.
The groom is the son of Warren LaCombe and Jackie Miller, both of Crowley. His grandparents are Thomas and Mable Thibodeaux of Lake Charles and Annie Lee Cart of Iota.
A graduate of Iota High School, Christopher is currently employed at REACH4 Communications.
Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride was beautiful in an elegant A-line gown of antique ivory lace. Embellished with crystals and pearls, the bodice of the dress featured an illusion scalloped V-neck and a dramatic illusion lace back, and the tulle skirt was adorned with delicate lace appliques. The gown was finished in the back with a row of crystal buttons over a zipper closure.
Brittany paired her gown with a matching lace fingertip veil, and she carried a hand-tied cascading bouquet of various ivory flowers interspersed with eucalyptus and other greenery. The bouquet’s stems were wrapped with an elegant handkerchief given to the bride by her paternal grandmother.
In keeping with tradition, the handkerchief served as “something old,” while the bride’s wedding dress, along with a necklace given to her by her parents, served as “something new.” A pair of earrings loaned to her by her mother was “something borrowed,” and a blue rosary from her maternal great-grandmother, carried in her bouquet, was “something blue.”
Meredith Broussard, friend of the bride, served as maid of honor, with Natalie Domingue, sister of the bride, serving as junior maid of honor.
Abbie Thibodeaux and Elizabeth Dartez, friends of the bride, and Brandy Lacombe Thompson, future sister-in-law of the bride, served as bridesmaids.
The bride’s attendants wore floor length A-line dresses in steel blue chiffon with varying styles of bodices and necklines of the attendants’ choosing. They carried bouquets of various ivory flowers and greenery.
The duties of best man were fulfilled by Joshua LaCombe, brother of the groom.
Standing as groomsmen were Brett Benoit, Trevor Vincent and Hunter Benoit, all friends of the groom.
Ushers were Alex Domingue and Craig Domingue, brothers of the bride, and Matt Thibeaux, friend of the groom.
Kensley Breaux, friend of the bride, and Macy Thibeaux, cousin of the groom, served as flower girls.
They wore eggnog satin sleeveless dresses featuring bodices with overlaid embroidered mesh and long skirts. Maroon sashes and bows defined the dresses at their natural waistlines, and the girls carried baskets of spring flowers.
Jackson Breaux, friend of the bride, served as ring bearer.
For her daughter’s wedding, the mother of the bride, the former Karen Thevis, wore a navy blue floor length dress featuring a scalloped neckline.
The mother of the groom chose a blue fitted shirt complimented by gray slacks.
Each mother wore a corsage of a single ivory rose accented with eucalyptus leaves.
Selected scriptures were read by Maddie Foster and Kelli LaCombe.
Offertory gifts were presented by Brenda Thevis, Shane Domingue, Kathy Louviere and Kevin LaCombe.
Following the wedding, family and friends joined the newlywed couple for a reception at The Warehouse in Rayne.
The bride’s three-tiered cake was made of traditional almond with Bavarian cream filling. Two of the three tiers were decorated with buttercream rosettes, while the middle tier was adorned with a rustic burlap and lace ribbon. The cake was topped with an initial “L” to represent the last name of the newlywed couple. The confection was served by the bride’s godmother, Brenda Thevis.
The groom’s chocolate cake, made by the groom’s aunt, Debbie Pytell, was decorated with a Nightwing symbol.
On the evening prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Hall. Guests at the 7 p.m. event, enjoyed a meal of jambalaya with a selection of home-cooked sides and desserts.
Following a wedding trip to Lake Tahoe, Nevada, the couple will reside in Branch.
