Gloria Marie Schexnayder

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 19, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Gloria Marie Schexnayder, 66, who died March 15, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
Fr. Edward Duhon, priest in residence at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will be officiating for the services.
The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Monday from noon to the time of service at 20 p.m.
Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Daphne S. Trumps and husband Justin of Youngsville, and Dana S. Cormier and husband Clay of Crowley; two sons, Damon Schexnayder of Church Point, and Duane Schexnayder and wife Miranda of Church Point; 10 grandchildren, Dylan, Alex, Abigail, Ella, Aubree, and Raelee Schexnayder, Jaxson Trumps, Jonah Trumps, Gage Monceaux, and Addison Cormier; and one brother, Rodney Schexnayder.
Mrs. Schexnayder is preceded in death by her father, Whitney “Red” Schexnayder; her mother, Hilda P. Blanchard; and her husband Chester; and one sister, Janet Abshire.

Evelyn Richard McFarlain

It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Evelyn Richard McFarlain announces her passing from this life on March 16, 2018, at the age of 79.
Evelyn was born in Evangeline to Amos Richard and Una Miller Richard on Feb. 21, 1939. She was a homemaker, who dedicated her life to the care of her family.
She loved to crochet, draw, read, and learning all she could about history. Evelyn’s greatest love was spending time with and caring for her family. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Evelyn is survived by her mother, Una M. Richard of Jennings; her four children, Dessie Prejean (Wayne) of Jennings, Diane Trahan (Steve) of Iota, Celina Mc Morris (David) of Jennings, Raymond Dural McFarlain (Connie) of Grand Lake; her brothers and sisters, Iris Gatte of Evangeline, Gene Ludren Richard (Susie) of Evangeline, Carol Ardoin of Jennings, Harvey Richard (Ginny) of Evangeline, Elsie Gatte (Danny) of Gott’s Cove, Connie Bergeaux (Russell) of Evangeline; as well as 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her father, Amos Richard; her brother, Curtis Keith Richard; her brothers-in-law, Hank Ardoin and Nolan Gatte.
Funeral services for Evelyn Richard McFarlain, 79 of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Tuesday, March 20, at 11 a.m. with Reverend James Townley officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bluff Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings beginning on Monday, March 19, from 2:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, March 20, at 9 a.m. until the time of her service at 11 a.m.
