Donald James Guidry Sr.

Duson - A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald James Guidry Sr., 76, of Duson, was celebrated on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 10 a.m. in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in Duson.
Father Aaron Melancon, Pastor of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, served as celebrant. Interment followed in St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery Duson.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 9, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. in St. Theresa Parish Life Center in Duson, with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. Visitation continued on Saturday, March 10, from 8 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Guidry passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018, in a Lafayette health care facility.
Mr. Guidry was a longtime resident of Duson, where he was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and a graduate of LSU, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for 30 years. Mr. Guidry loved children and animals, and he was a doting grandfather to his 19 grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of over 46 years, Gayle Marie Arceneaux Guidry of Duson; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Presley of Duson, Cynthia Beverly and husband Matthew of Lafayette, and Jennifer Coles and husband, Robert of Mandeville; sons, Edward Joseph Guidry of Duson, John Paul Guidry of Duson, Michael David Guidry of Mandeville, and Matthew Steven Guidry and wife Michelle of Shreveport; a brother, Patrick Dale Guidry and wife Karen of Breaux Bridge; two sisters, Brenda Brandon and husband Tom of Crowley, and Sue Prudhomme and husband Michael of Scott; and 19 grandchildren.
Preceding Mr. Guidry in death were his parents, Joseph Adalbert Guidry and Odile Cormier Guidry Gaspard; a son, Donald J. Guidry Jr.; a brother, Lawrence Joseph Guidry Sr.; and son-in-law, Leroy John Presley.
Serving as pallbearers were Patrick Guidry, Edward Guidry, Michael Guidry, Matthew Guidry, Matthew Beverly and Robert Coles. Honorary pallbearer was John Guidry.

Telsie Marie Menard Robinson McNeese

RAYNE - Funeral services for Telsie Marie Menard Robinson McNeese, 93, were held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne.
Reverend Gene Lee, pastor of First Baptist Church of Rayne, officiated. Interment followed at Maxie Cemetery.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 13, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne.
Mrs. McNeese passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 in Crowley.
A native of Cankton, Mrs. McNeese was a longtime resident of Rayne. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Rayne.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy Chauvin of Rayne and Juanita Romero of Rayne; sons, Wilbur Robinson of Rayne and Cecil Robinson and wife Sandra of Rayne; sisters, Edna Brasseaux of Carencro, Mary Faul of Duson, Audrey Oathoudt and husband Roy of Rayne and Edmonia Goulas of Carencro; brothers, Davis Menard of Cankton and Leelin Menard of Kaplan; 20 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 49 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Mrs. McNeese in death were her first husband, William Robinson; second husband, C.O. McNeese; parents, Edmond Menard and Emily Jacqneaux Menard; sons, Edridge Robinson and Michael Robinson; sisters, Ida Menard Robinson, Jane Menard, Goldie Hanks, Anna-Grace Menard and Emily Degeyter; brothers, Edmond Menard and Edward Menard; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Theogene Tousiant Meaux

RAYNE - Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 2 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne, for Theogene Tousiant Meaux, 86, who died Friday, March 9, 2018 at his residence in Rayne.
Interment was in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum in Rayne.
Deacon Tommy Adams of St. Joseph Catholic Church conducting the funeral services. Readers were Celeste Meaux Dupuis and Leticia Meaux, and the responsorial psalm by Paulette Matte Thibodeaux.
Survivors include his wife, Sable Daigle Meaux; three sons, Patrick “Glen” Meaux and wife Patricia, Ronnie Anthony Meaux and wife Kathy, and Ferdie Joseph Meaux and wife Nekita; two daughters, Annette Meaux Stutes and husband Dwayne, Danette Meaux and companion Celeste Heyer; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Denise Mouton and Donald Daigle; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Daigle Guidry and husband Liney and Eda Daigle.
He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy John Meaux; his parents, Elvis Meaux and Emetile Meche Meaux; four sisters, Ann Meaux, Eva Meaux Credeur and husband Louis, Rita Meaux Credeur and husband Vincent and Mary Meaux Mouton; infant brother, Ferdie Meaux; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Levi and Pearly Daigle; sisters-in-law, Patsy Daigle and Maudre Matte; and brothers-in-law, Melvin Matte, Larry Daigle and Garland Daigle.
Pallbearers were Jamie Meaux, Brandon Meaux, Michael Meaux, Cody Bruce, Celeb Bruce, Timmi Bruce, Hunter Meaux and Mitchell Ledet. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Dupuis, Stoney Dupuis, Jermey Meaux, Kurt Meaux, Logan Meaux, and all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A rosary was prayed Saturday, March 10, at 6 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne.
The family requested visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, on Saturday, March 10, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday March 11, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Mr. Meaux’s family would like to give a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and staff, Dr. Michael Dibbs and staff, Dr. Darrin Menard and staff, his unforgotten son/brother-in-law, Donald Daigle for his love and support throughout the years are beyond words, Tommy Adams for officiating all services, Paulette Matte Thibodeaux for the support on the final night with the loving father, and to all his family and friends who came to visit throughout his illness and final days.

Barbara B. Lawson

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 15, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Crowley for Barbara B. Lawson, 76, who died Sunday, March 11, 2018.
Rev. Cullen Clark, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate for the services.
The family requests visiting hours Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
Mrs. Lawson is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ron S. Lawson of Crowley; one daughter, Kelly Lawson Schupp and husband Orion of Baton Rouge; one son, Lee Lawrence Lawson and wife Linda of Crowley; four grandchildren, Emily Lawson, Matthew Lawson, Benjamin Schupp, and Adam Schupp.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Ethel Hoffpauir; her parents, Wilbert Baronet and Julia Redlich Baronet Hargrave.
Mrs. Lawson was fortunate to touch many lives in her 33-year teaching career. She had a passion for teaching and a love for Christ that she exhibited every day to her students and family.
She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and ADK. Family and friends’ most cherished memories revolve around sharing some of her fabulous meals and beautiful cakes. If you left her house hungry, it was your own fault.
Pallbearers will be David Baronet, Bill Baronet, Paul Baronet, Alan Lawson, Matthew Lawson and Orion Schupp.
Many thanks to her wonderful medical team, and her in-home caregivers, Theresa Henny, Shanel Addison, and Megan Bourque.
