Ellis “Fra” Thibodeaux

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 26, 2018, at 2 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Lyons Point, for Ellis “Fra” Thibodeaux, 87, who died Thursday, March 22, 2018, at 4 p.m. at Southwind Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Crowley surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Thibodeaux, known as “Fra” worked at Supreme Rice Mill for over 50 years as a scale sewer. He cut grass for most of his life. He enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to everyone he knew. He would go above and beyond to help people he knew. He also liked to listen to his French music every day.
Fr. Clint Trahan, pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Mr. Thibodeaux is survived by two sons, Mike Thibodeaux of Midland and Joyson Thibodeaux and his wife Charlene of Midland; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren on the way; and one brother, Vernice Thibodeaux.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Rose Touchet Thibodeaux; two sons, Carlton and Norman Thibodeaux; granddaughter, Kendra Thibodeaux; his parents, Paul Alphie and Mamie Pepper Thibodeaux; three sisters, Lucille Cormier, Yvonne Trahan and Ethel Mire; and two brothers, Roy Thibodeaux and Joseph Loncon.
Pallbearers will be Waylon Thibodeaux, Ronald Faulk, Kent Thibodeaux, Bryon Faulk, William Robinson and John Michael Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Brody Thibodeaux, Nathan Faulk, Kameron and Karson Thibodeaux and Elliott Thibodeaux.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Lamm Hospice and Southwind Nursing and Rehabilitation for their loving care and support they gave to him and his family.

Joyce Breaux Lambert

Private funeral services were held for Joyce Breaux Lambert, 89, who died March 21, 2018, in Crowley.
Fr. Edward Duhon officiated for the services. Interment was held in Maxie Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Lambert Sr. of Crowley; two sons, Jack Lambert Jr. and his wife Lila of Crowley and Jay Lambert of Crowley; four grandchildren, Breyan Freeman and her husband Michael of Lafayette, Heath Lambert of Scott, Chase Lambert of Foley, Alabama, and Hunter Lambert of Crowley; and three great-grandchildren, Jack Thomas Freeman, Katherine Freeman and Caroline Freeman.
Mrs. Lambert is preceded in death by her parents, Odan and Ella Duhon Breaux; one son, John Lambert; two sisters, Hazel Herrin and Lou Eckert; and two brothers, Harry and Bob Breaux.

Frankie Allen Thompson Sr.

Frankie was born on Aug. 27, 1965, in Crowley, to Nathan D. Thompson and Joyce Comeaux Thompson and was called to his Heavenly father on Monday, March 19, 2018.
He loved the outdoors, especially when he was hunting or fishing. Frankie also loved to build trucks, and clean.
He was a devoted father, amazing brother and friend. Frankie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Frankie is survived by his father, Nathan D. Thompson; the mother of his children, Victoria Hanks Thompson; his son, Frankie Thompson Jr. (Courtney Perrin); his daughter, Erica Thompson (Blakeman Matthews); Will Davis, which was like a son to him; his brother, Jessie Thompson (Kim); his sisters, Cynthia Tate (Timothy), Christine Thompson, Noamie Thompson; his sister at heart, Bonnie Emerson; as well as his, grandchild, Bentley Perrin; his godchildren, Ashley T. Montoya, Nathan J. Thompson II, Xander K. Christophe, Aleah Constantin.
Frankie is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce C. Thompson; his brother, Nathan James Thompson I.
Funeral services for Frankie Allen Thompson Sr., 52 of Crowley, will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Gueydan on Friday, March 23, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jimmy Broussard officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, March 23, beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until the time of his service.

Lillie Mae Yokum Minix

Sister Lillie Mae Yokum Minix was born on July 4, 1935, in Branch, to the late Louis R. Yokum and Lusenda Wilridge Yokum. She resided in Crowley.
After becoming a member of Israelite Baptist Church, Sister Lillie Mae served as a deaconess for some years. Lillie Mae was employed at Ruddock’s Bakery for 40 plus years. She will be remembered for her delicious cakes she donated for various events at the church.
Sister Minix enjoyed watching old television shows such as The Andy Griffith Show, Walker, Texas Ranger, and her favorite, Law and Order. She also loved seek-and-find puzzles. Her kitchen was always opened to anyone who wanted a meal.
She leaves to lovingly cherish her memory six children, Ernest James Minix Jr. and Donald Ray Minix both of Crowley, Mark John Minix of Seattle, Washington; Glenn Fitzgerald Minix of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Monia Denise Minix of Denton, Texas, and Shannon M. Charles (Kely) of Waldolf, MDaryland; 17 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters, Dorothy M. Carter and Mary L. Leger, both of Lake Charles, Louis Yokum, Lenton Yokum, and Donald Yokum, all of Rayne; and a host of relatives and friends.
Sister Lillie Mae is preceded in death by her parents, Louis R. Yokum and Lusenda Wilridge Yokum; and a daughter, Abbie Gayle Minix Hall.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24, at 11 a.m. at Israelite Baptist Church, 428 N. Avenue C, Crowley.
The family requests visiting Saturday from 9 a.m. to service time at the church.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum.

Roy Allen LeJeune

It’s with the great sadness and heaviest of hearts that the family of Roy Allen LeJeune, 71, announces his passing from this life into the arms of Angels on March 22, 2018.
Roy was born in Iota to Gordon LeJeune and Roberta Leger LeJeune on May 21, 1946. He was a truck driver until he retired in February of 2017.
Roy liked to ride his four-wheeler around the neighborhood, where he would stop and visit with his neighbors. Roy loved to go fishing in his pond, but most of all he cherished spending time play with his horses.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Roy is survived by his wife, Bessie L. LeJeune of Crowley; son, Richard LeJeune of Denton, Texas; daughters, Valerie LeJeune of Pasadena, Texas, JoAnne (Jerry Florez) LeJeune of Pasadena, Texas, and Marjorie (Andrew) West of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Gene, Terry, and Leonard; and sisters, Sharlene, Bernadine, and Pansy.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Roberta Leger LeJeune; granddaughter, Felicia; brother, Kenneth; and sisters, Brenda and Barbra Nell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morse on Monday, March 26, at 10 a.m. with Father Clint Trahan officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings beginning on Sunday, March 25, at 2:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday, March 26, from 8 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Mass.
Burial will follow in Kaplan Cemetery.

Rodney Lee Lege

Rodney Lee Lege was born on April 30, 1954, in Gueydan, to August Lege and Helen Trahan Lege and was called to his Heavenly father on March 20, 2018, at the age of 63.
Rodney worked as an electrician, a job in which he enjoyed. He loved to watch sports and westerns.
Rodney also enjoyed playing the accordion. But most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Rodney will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Brenda V. Lege of Morse; his two sons, Rodney Shayne Lege of Morse, and Rocky Lee Lege of Morse; his daughter, Shelly Rene Theriot (Randy Lane) of Estherwood; his four brothers, James Lege of Lege Cove, Ronald Lege of Morse, L.J. Lege of Morse, and Robert Paul Lege of Lyons Point; his four sisters, Helen Primeaux, Bernice Viator of Estherwood, Mary Monceaux of Morse, and Sally Hargrave of Kaplan; as well as his five grandchildren, Christian, Gage, Kameron, Evan, Hunter; and his two great-grandchildren, Aydan and Alijah.
Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, August and Helen Lege.
Funeral services for Rodney Lee Lege, 63 of Morse, will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Gueydan on Sunday, March 25, at 2 p.m.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Gueydan beginning on Saturday, March 24, at 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. Visitation will resume on Sunday, March 25, at 9 a.m. until the time of his service.
Burial will follow in Lege Cemetery.
