RAYNE - Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at a 1:30 pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, LA for Christopher John Comeaux, 19, who died Saturday February 10, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospice-Carpenter House in Lafayette, LA.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne, LA.

Rev. Matthew Higginbotham, Pastor of Immaculate Conception in Washington, LA will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Fr. Kevin Bordelon, Fr. Christopher Cambre, and Fr. Sam Fontana will be con-celebrants.

Survivors include parents, John Robert Comeaux and Jill Hebert Comeaux of Rayne, 9 siblings Mitchell Hebert, Kerrie Comeaux, Krystian Comeaux, Jordan Comeaux, Brianna Comeaux, Cady Comeaux, Lane Comeaux, Mikalyn Comeaux, Ian Comeaux all of Rayne, maternal grandparents, Raymond Hebert and Karen Creduer Hebert of Rayne, paternal grandfather, Charles Peter Comeaux of Rayne, eight uncles, Charles Jude Comeaux and wife Tara of Rayne, Joel Comeaux and wife Donna of Branch, Jason Comeaux and wife Akiko of Uruma, Okinawa, Japan, Jeremy Comeaux and wife Marisa of Houston, TX, Jody Comeaux of San Diego, CA, Phil Hebert and wife Kim of Rayne, Matt Hebert and wife Toni of Rayne, Nicholas "Nick" Hebert of Milton, godfather, Mitch Hebert, godmother, Shelia Hebert, godchild, Blakelyn Stelly of Branch.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Mary Annette Mier Comeaux, paternal great grandparents, Louis Mier, Sr. and Harriet Schexnider Mier, paternal great grandparents, Melcar Comeaux and Olga Barrilleaux Comeaux, maternal great grandparents, Cleveland Paul Creduer and Ruby Dugas Credeur, maternal great grandparents, Leland Paul Hebert, Sr. and Hildegarde Zaunbrecher Hebert, cousin, Kaelan Hebert, aunt, Mary Celeste Puyau Hebert.

A Rosary will be prayed Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 7:00 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne LA on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Dr. Richard Arthur Bagget

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Dr. Richard Arthur Baggett, 79, who died Feb. 10, 2018, in Crowley.
Rev. Billy Duke, pastor of Covenant Church of Mobile, will be officiating for the services.
The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m.
Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
Dr. Baggett graduated from Oberlin High School and earned a degree in pharmacy from University of Louisiana at Monroe. He owned and operated a drug store in Elizabeth, for 13 years.
Dr. Baggett became a minister in 1971 where he pastored Oberlin Fellowship until 1983. He then became pastor of Lafayette Covenant Church in 1983 to 1995. During that time he obtained a Doctorate Degree in Theology. He then went back to school and studied Philosophy and became a professor at University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1996 until his retirement in 2016.
In 2007 he became pastor of Fairview Methodist Church in Lake Charles until his retirement in 2017. He authored three books, Professional Ethics, Living Among the Lions, Where Have all the Leaders Gone, and More Than Survivors.
He is survived by his wife, Ellan Kay Baggett of Crowley; five children, Richard Brent Baggett and wife Roxanne of Lake Charles, Stan Baggett and wife Cheri of Iota, Randy Baggett and wife Crystal of Sulphur, Holly Baggett of Lafayette, and Kris Smith and wife Darlene of Haughton; 11 grandchildren, Amber Baggett Mabile and husband Ben, Jillyan Baggett Bevlaqua, Kim and Kim Stoute, Jacob Chapman and wife Emily, Ashlyn Baggett Saucier and husband Zachary, Caitlyn Baggett Boudreaux and husband Nick, Allison Baggett, Tristan and Cade Baggett, Lee Michael Fremaux, Hannah Fremaux, and Alexandria Fremaux; and nine great-grandchildren, Seth Mabile, Cooper Mabile, Avery Bruce, Paige Chapman, Brenna Saucier, Graham Saucier, Addisyn Boudreaux, Lincoln Boudreaux, and Maxx Stoute.
Dr. Baggett is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jo Semple Baggett; his parents, Ray and Ruth Isles Baggett; and one brother, Charles Ray Baggett.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dr. Baggett’s name to St. Jude Research Hospital www.stjudes.org.
The family would like to thank his caregivers Lisa Istre, Sonya Schexnayder, Kenneth Guidry; and the staff of Lamm Hospice for their care and compassion given to Dr. Baggett.

Jordan Andrew Matthews

RAYNE - Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Abundant Life Assembly in Rayne, for Jordan Andrew Matthews, 17, who died Friday, February 2, 2018 in Rayne.

Interment will be in the Arceneaux Cemetery in Rayne.

Brother Sigmund Richard will conduct the funeral services.

Survivors include mother, Melba "Cissi" Lynn Young of Rayne; father, Lawrence "Jay" Matthews Jr. of Rayne; girlfriend, Taylor Breaux of Rayne; two sisters, Paige Cormier and wife Jacey of Rayne and Jaylyn Matthews of Rayne; three brothers, James Cormier and fiance Kathleen Langlinais of Rayne, Chase Broussard of Rayne and Gage Matthews of Rayne; maternal grandmother, Derbra Young of Rayne; seven uncles, Bryson Douga, Ronnie Matthews and wife Melissa, Lonnie Matthews, Ricky Young and wife Emily, Joshua Young, Billy Huddleston and Roland LeBlanc; two aunts, Corita Hebert and husband Wallace and Melinda Matthews; step-grandparents, Jeanette and Donald Doucet of Rayne; step-father, Lance Broussard; two step-aunts, Lisa St. Julian and Nicole St. Julian; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, John Rickey Young; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Betty Matthews Sr.; paternal grandmother, Alice Babineaux; great-grandmother, Agnes LeBlanc; and a niece, Everleigh Skye Cormier.

Pallbearers will be Paige Cormier, Chase Broussard, James Cormier, Bryson Douga, Lonnie Matthews, Ronald Singal, Devon Renfrow, Trent Pastor. Honorary pallbearers will be Gage Matthews, Trevor Young, Chaz Thibodeaux, Dustin Cormier, Spencer Bergeron.

Jordan Matthews family would like to give a special thanks to everyone who made a donation to help with the funeral expenses.
