Linda Faye Meche Comeaux

RAYNE - Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, Jan., 31, 2018, at 1 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Linda Faye Meche Comeaux, 58, who passed away at her home in Rayne on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 at 9:48 a.m.
Deacon Tommy Adams from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne officiated for the services. Burial was in the Arceneaux Cemetery in Rayne.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. A Rosary was recited Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation resumed on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until time of services.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Comeaux of Rayne; two sons, Brad Richard of Rayne, and Eric and wife Krystle Richard of Richard; one daughter, Cassie Richard and companion Jordy Lee of Rayne; one step son, Michael and wife Kayla Comeaux of Iota; 11 grandchilren, Brylan, Jada, Kiah, Ava, Tucker, Ryker, Leland, Jace and Kayden Richard and Leiam and Logan Comeaux; one sister, Bernita Benoit of Mire; one brother, and Leo Meche Jr. and wife Betty Meche of Mire.
Mrs. Comeaux was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Agnes Meche Sr.; one sister, Lee Verdie Cormier; two brothers, Willie Meche and Milton “Blue” Meche.

Melvin Lawrence

RAYNE - A Mass of Christian Burial for Melvin Lawrence, 76, of Rayne, will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, Rayne.
Father Richard Wagner, pastor of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, will serve as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Cemetery, Rayne.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb 3, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. in Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 8 a.m. in the funeral home.
Mr. Lawrence passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 23, in a Kaplan health care facility.
A native of Rayne, Mr. Lawrence was a faithful member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church. He worked for many years as a mechanic at the LSU Agriculture Center Experimental Rice Station. Mr. Lawrence was an active member of the Rayne community, having served with the Rayne Auxiliary Police Department and as a Charter Member of A&O 21st Century Club.
Survivors are two daughters, including Bernadette Michelle Robinson and husband Robert of Rayne, children, Cardell Edmond and wife Danielle of Rayne, Josette Edmond of Rayne, and Joachina Fong of California; companion, Flora Edmond of Rayne; sisters, Marie Collins of Houston, Earnistine Yokum of Lake Charles, Elaine Lawrence of Lafayette and Sylvia Bates of Lafayette; godchildren, Brian Collins and Leah Mitchell; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding Mr. Lawrence in death were his parents, Paul Harry Lawrence and Lucille Handy Lawrence; brothers, Gilbert Lawrence, Anthony Lawrence, Edmond Lawrence Sr., David Lawrence and Joseph Lawrence; sisters, Annie J. Wilkins, Brenda Lawrence, Constance Evans and Mary Ann James; and grandchild Joshua Edmond.
Serving as pallbearers are Peter Lawrence, Paul Lawrence, Gastone Lawrence, Chris Yokum, Byron Yokum and Martin Yokum. Named honorary pallbearers are Brian Collins, Thedrick Mouton, Gilbert James, Harold Wilkins, Bridget Collins, Edmond Lawrence Jr., Claude Evans Jr. and Marcus Belizare.

William M. “Bill” Crouch Jr.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m. at Crowley First Church of the Nazarene for William M. “Bill” Crouch Jr., 71, who died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at 11:30 p.m. at DeRidder Retirement Center in DeRidder.
Rev. Greg Beaty and Rev. Glenn Messer will officiate for the services.
The family requests visiting hours Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home, Iota, and Thursday from 9 a.m. to service at Crowley First Church of the Nazarene.
Burial will be in Maxie Cemetery.
Bill was a 1964 graduate of Springhill High School. In 1968 he graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and Social Studies. That same year he began his teaching career in Delhi for one semester before moving to Rayne High School after marrying Laura Henderson of Iota.
In 1982 Bill earned his Master of Education in Counseling from Louisiana State University. “Mr. Crouch” was a fixture at Rayne High School for 40 years, teaching such classes as Social Studies, World Geography, Economics, World History, American History, Civics and Driver’s Education.
During his time at Rayne High School he transitioned from the classroom to Guidance Counselor which later led to becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
Bill was a very active member of his local church, the First Church of the Nazarene in Crowley, as well as holding numerous positions on the Louisiana District of the Church of the Nazarene. He loved southern gospel music and was responsible for bringing some of the biggest names in gospel music to the Nazarene church for concerts over the years.
“Bill” is survived by his wife of 48 years, Laura June Henderson Crouch of Iota; one daughter, Cherie C. Cundiff and husband Scott of Houston, Texas; one son, Tracy Crouch and wife Valerie of DeRidder; one sister, Dr. Rebecca Crouch-Ryals of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Sarah Cundiff, Matthew Cundiff, Ryan Crouch, Abbigayle Crouch and Annaleigh Crouch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. William M. Crouch Sr. and Martha Odle Crouch.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Crouch, Scott Cundiff, Gary Henderson, Ted Henderson, Barry Ryals and Dwayne Petry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Crouch and Matthew Cundiff.
