Otis Richard

Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 12, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Otis Richard, 71, who died Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at 6:38 a.m. at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.
Lenford Whitaker, pastor of Pentecostals of Crowley, will have opening prayer at the service. Scotty Smith, associate pastor of Pentecostals of Crowley, will officiate for the services.
The family requests visiting hours Sunday from 1 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to service time.
Burial will be in North Hanks Cemetery.

Otis is survived by his wife, Carolyn Smith Richard of Crowley; one son, Otis J. “Joey” Richard and wife Natalie of Rayne; one sister, Pearl Navarre of Navarre, Florida; three brothers, Simon Richard and Wilfred Richard both of Rayne, and Lawrence Richard Jr. of Carencro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Bernice Romero Richard; two sisters, Theresa and Cecile Richard; one brother, Edward “Booga” Richard.
Otis was a very proud man that served his country with pride during the Vietnam War as a United States Marine.
He loved his family and friends unconditionally with a very giving heart. Big O loved cooking, woodworking, playing cards, taking long rides on the back roads, the New Orleans Saints most years, and always sharing what was on his mind with no filter. Otis above all was Genuine. He will be forever missed and loved.

Timothy Cornell Breaux

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019, at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Crowley for Timothy Cornell Breaux, 40.
Services will be conducted by Father Godwin Imoru.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, children, mother and biological father.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dwight Lee Breaux Sr.; maternal grandmother, Celeste Austin; maternal grandfather, Otis Beverly and sister, Deserae Guidry.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13, at St. Theresa Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Lou Anna Myers Lege

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Estherwood for Lou Anna Myers Lege, 92, who passed away Aug. 8, 2019, at Encore Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Fr. Randall Moreau, pastor of St. Margaret Catholic Church, officiated for the services.
The family requested visiting hours be held Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley. A rosary was recited at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Interment was in Estherwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Lege was the secretary for Village of Estherwood and served on the Executive Board of Southwest Acadia Consolidated Housing Authority for many years.
She was a lifelong member of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Estherwood, lifetime member of the Ladies Alter Society, member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Lege dedicated many years to honoring the veterans of Estherwood Memorial Cemetery by putting out flags on all veterans’ graves. She organized fundraisers and with community donations, was able to erect a monument, etched with the names of all veterans in the cemetery.
She was beloved by her family and friends for her sense of humor, her fun-loving manner, and her joy for life. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Calvin Joseph Lee Lege and wife Becky, and Larry Michael Lege and wife Cindy, both of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Lori Lege Lormand and husband Percy of Kaplan, Christopher Michael Lege and wife Bliss of Houston, and Ann Michelle Olivier and husband Kent of Sunset; and six great-grandchildren, Madison Fulton, Dominic Fulton, Arabella Statigos, Liam Olivier, Luke Olivier and Annalise Olivier.
Mrs. Lege is preceded in death by her husband, Love J. Lege; her parents, Joseph and Leona “Taunt Deuce” Myers; and one brother, Joseph Myers.
Pallbearers were Christopher Lege, Ronald Lege, Dominic Fulton, Robbie Simon, Marc Hebert and Kent Olivier.
Readers will be E. Paul Broussard and Joan Richard. Serving as giftbearers will be Ann Lege Olivier, Lori Lege Lormand and Madison Fulton.
The family would like to thank Encore Health and Rehab Center and Grace Hospice for the wonderful, loving care they provided.

Hubert Breaux Sr.

Hubert Breaux Sr., 79, of Anahuac, Texas, passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, at his home. He was born on Nov. 29, 1939, in Crowley to Mede and Lucille Miller Breaux.
Hubert came from a large family, consisting of 25 children. He attended school in Louisiana and received his Associate Degree from Lee College in Baytown. Hubert worked as a millwright for many years with U.S. Steel and Austin Industries before his retirement.
Hubert pursued many interests, some of which included his love of woodworking, listening to zydeco music and fishing. But his favorite hobby of all was spending quality time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.
Hubert will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Hubert was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother Mamie Breaux; his wife of 42 years Peggy Breaux; his brothers, Moise, Houston, Earl, Eastin, Milton, Homer, Melvin, Leroy and Charlie; and his sisters, Betty and Rosa.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son Hubert Breaux Jr. and wife Alice; his daughters Patricia Stephens and husband Brad, and Penny Knichel and husband Josh; his grandchildren Brandon, Matthew, Ashley, Chris, Brittani, Jonathan, Britni, C.J., Philip, Dylan, Logan and Katherine; his great-grandchildren Khaslee, Evelyn, Ellie, Peyton, Emme, Elijah, Nevaeh and Brooke; his sisters Lucy, Ruby, Junice, Joyce, Dianne, Louise, Annette, Jerrilyn and Gena; his brothers Gilbert, Donlean, Howard and Tony; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers were Brandon Stephens, Matthew Stephens, Dylan Sailors, Logan Knichel, Chris Breaux, Jonathan Pierce, Shawn Rogers, C.J. Parsons and Philip Parsons.
Friends were invited to visit with the family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main St., in Anahuac, with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Hankamer Community Fellowship, 2858 FM 1663 in Hankamer, with Bro. Mark Pagals officiating.
A graveside service and committal immediately followed in Anahuac Cemetery.
