Ralph “Rufus” Breaux
RAYNE - Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at 10 a.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Ralph “Rufus” Breaux, 70, who passed away at his home in Rayne on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018 at 11:09 p.m.
Deacon Tommy Adams from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne will officiate the services.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church New Cemetery in Rayne.
The family has requested visitation be held on Monday, Jan. 15, at 8 a.m until time of services in the Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne.
Survivors include his sister, Debra R. and husband Roger Fusilier of Rayne; brother, Karl K. Richard of Rayne; sisters, Sandra Breaux and Linda Breaux; and brothers, Marcus and Tony Breaux.
Mr. Breaux was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Joseph Breaux Sr. and Hilda T. Richard; and one brother, Curtis Joseph Breaux Jr.

Dorothy Josephine Reiners Richard
Roberts Cove - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove for Dorothy Josephine Reiners Richard, 96, who died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.
Interment will be in the St. Leo IV Cemetery, Roberts Cove.
Rev. Kevin Bordelon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, will be celebrant of the funeral mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include five daughters, Margaret R. Comeaux of Rayne, Nancy R. Pousson and husband Glenn of Iota, Joyce R. Chiasson and husband Barry Lafayette, Yvonne R. Bullock and husband Clarke of Rayne, and Yvette R. Ohlenforst and Philip of Roberts Cove; three sons, David Richard and wife Kathy of Roberts Cove, Simon Richard and companion Della Roberie of Rayne, and George Richard and companion Rhonda Fontenot of Rayne; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Deynoodt Jean Richard; two granddaughters, Penny Pousson and Emily Ohlenforst; son-in-law, James H. Comeaux; father, William Joseph Reiners; mother, Marie Elizabeth Scheufens Reiners; three sisters, Agnes Reiners Thevis, Katherine Reiners Thevis and Veronica Reiners Thevis.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Comeaux, Bryce Bullock, Jason Chaiasson, Stephen Ohlenforst, Matthew Richard and Zhane Pousson.
A Rosary will be prayed Monday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne.
The family requests visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne on Monday, Jan. 15, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Tuesday, Jan. 16, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Barbara Jane Fontenot
It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Barbara Jane Fontenot of Egan announces her passing from this life on Jan. 12, 2018, at the age of 70.
Barbara was born in Kaplan to Horace Bertrand and Lorraine Theriot Bertrand on Nov. 10, 1947. She worked for the United States Post Office, a job in which she enjoyed. Barbara loved to cook and to dance. Most of all she loved the time she was able to spend with all of her family, her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and three great-grandsons. She was a kind and loving soul who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Randal P. Fontenot of Egan; her son, Dennis Quebodeaux (Tina) of Three Rivers, Texas; her step-children, Jodi Cook of Willing, West Virginia, Darla Joyce of Stewart, Florida, Nadalyn Laidlaw of Sulphur and Dusty Fontenot of Jennings; her, sister, Elaine Richard of Orange, Texas; her thirteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Lorraine Bertrand, and her two sons, Tim and Jason Quebodeaux.
Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at 1 p.m. with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Graveside Services for Barbara will be held at Sensat Cemetery at a later date. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings beginning on Saturday, Jan. 13 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at 9 a.m. until the time of her service at 1 p.m.

Dorothy Jane Schexnayder Cormier Suire
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 at noon in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Dorothy Jane Schexnayder Cormier Suire, 67, who passed away on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at 3:30 a.m. at Southwind Nursing Home in Crowley. Rev. Jimmy Broussard will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Monday at 8 a.m. until time of services.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Cormier and companion Dennis Tucker of Morse and Trisha and husband Conrad Perry of Crowley; three brothers, Chester “T-neg”and wife Margaret Schexnayder of Youngsville, Wilfred “Ducey” and wife Gloria Schexnayder of Kaplan and Edward “Ed” and wife Annette Schexnayder of Lyons Point; two sisters, Mary and husband Larry Vincent of Mermentau Cove and Earlene Schexnayder of Crowley; five grandchildren, Bethany Gautreaux, Kathleen Perry, Dylan Hoffpauir, Paytilyn and husband Kenneth Tucker and Gaige Perry; and eight great-grandchildren.
Ms. Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Dellinga Cormier; her second husband, Richard Suire; her parents, Wilbert and Rosebell Bertrand Schexnayder; and one sister, Marlene Schexnayder.
Ms. Suire was an employee of Southwind Nursing Home for 27 and a half years as a ward clerk.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all at Southwind Nursing Home for the loving care they gave to Ms. Dorothy. Also, the family would like to thank all at Hospice of Acadiana.
